I got this from the brewery so it's pretty fresh. I get the pumpkin first although its not the sweet artificial flavor like you get in cheap pie. Its literally tastes like the smell of cutting into a pumpkin at Halloween. The hops and nutmeg take over with the hops almost covering up the nutmeg. At least that's what my palate tells me. I'm pretty hop sensitive so I can understand why you might get more nutmeg than I do.

Again, not to highjack the thread or go off on a tangent, but The Doors were sooooo far ahead of their time and it's just plain ridiculous! Not enough respect given to those guys at all.

Almost at the end of the week!! The GF and I decided to have grapefruit beers...
Sculpin and Stiegl Radler. Guess which is whose ?

    Punchline for some:
"I'm sorry, I can't operate on this boy, he's my son."

I wanted to try the Radler, so I did. Plus I am still in the camp of not quite completely getting the GF Sculpin hype (pun intended). Plus, I cut the back yard 2 days ago, and needed a lawnmower beer. Well, weed whacker beer-the yard isn't that big. However I expect a few ecological groups protesting outside as I removed a small jungle (first cutting all year).

Credit to the bartender on the style: Grapefruit soda. Reminded me of the A-Treat Grapefruit I would get when visiting grandparents, almost as sweet but with the grapefruit seeming more natural.

Stay tuned for Throwback Thursday Throwdown after I get home from dinner !

There is a another thread(or two) around about the IPA craze being "crazy". I love IPAs! Probably top of my go to list. But knowing I'll take some heat on this site I also love (...among other styles) brown ales. I dry hop a Moose Drool Ale clone I brew that is heavenly IMO of course. Mine (again IMO) is in the same realm as this one ......I obviously really like it. Always dreamed of being a guitar hero!

Not my first one - I was on a roll with this brew for awhile, my bro turned me on to this. A little pricey @ 11 plus a sixer. But one that's worth it. Figured I'd drink out of this glass because I'm reminiscing about one of the most exciting years in my life time of Giants football.......that at this point looks like I'll be gone before it happens again. Cheers ![IMG]

Honestly I've never been a big fan of FD. But that pumpkin IPA I just tried yesterday was one of the better pumkins I've had. Maybe cause it was more of an IPA than a sweet spicey sugar bomb....
