Yeah I got shut out about 15ppl in front getting there at about 11:40 or so. Meh not like I haven't been drinking it for a while.

The good news is that the observation room with all those ppl still remained cold unlike the cabot location. So there is that to look forward to.

What I found also interesting was most of the line that got shut out still wandered in (gotta tick dat velvet yo). I left at 1:45, velvet still pouring. double hammerhead and pbviet long gone though.

Got there at 11:45, saw the line for the bottle, I said fuck it and got to the Velvet SS tasters with the quickness. The velvet taster was wayyyy more worth it.

Left about 30mins ago and Velvet was all that is left pouring in the back observation area. Double hammerhead was the first to tap out following Peanut Butter VSS. However, BASS and regular VSS is still pouring as well in the bar area of the new tasting room. Got there about 11:30 and was denied VSS about 10 people in front of me. I'm assuming that you'll need to get there even earlier next Thursday to safely secure a bottle or 2 of VSS.

500 or so bottles at 2 per person. Ha. yeah. This stress test for the new location is comical.

Yea I heard it was about 200ish bottles of VSS released today. There was a point where people were rushing in the tasting room when they found out that bottles were sold out while some of us still remained in line thinking we still had a chance at VSS bottles. Had no idea what was going on at that point. Also it seems there were 2 separate lines to for Velvet where one was also serving hammerhead and the other the peanut butter VSS. In the end, it didn't matter what line you were in and what you wanted. I'm hoping next week improves a bit.

We do need to take a step back and realize that we were getting Velvet walk up w/o a line. That right there amazed me.

I still think I like MTs MP way best. BPT and you have to be the one to pick it up. Slightly sucks that you can't have a friend who happens to be there grab them, but at least there's less liklihood of BS going on.

You mean the way AleSmith did all the BPT releases except the last one?

Yup, I was told a pallet each day, what I wasn't told was just one layer on the pallet. =P

I saw the line at noon and immediately drove back to the Cabot location. They weren't pouring any special Speedways, but everything else was available and there was no crowd.

I still like in person releases. If some crazy person is going to wait for 10 hours, then so be it, I'd rather lose out to you than some guy with faster internet speed, or who clicked refresh at the right time. But if I am willing to get there 5 hours early and dedicate a whole day to buying beer, then I should be able to buy.

Your lack of shit to do or a job shouldn't entitle you to a beer. At that point it just becomes a war of attrition.

Yea, I was told 25 cases each day, which puts it at 300 bottles a day. So, 150 people each day, gotta equal instant whalez bruh.

To be fair, though, I'd posit nothing entitles you to a beer. BPT is the sensible solution, IMO, but it's not like Alesmith had threatened the Republic here or anything.
