It's been 4 days since I framed this and put it in front of my fiancee's DMB poster (I'm not a fan).

Seemed appropriate to drink this. Three years on it. Some plums and raisins, lots of non-hot cinnamon (if that descriptor means anything) and a lot of warmth in my chest from it. I absolutely LOVE quads and this one is just ok.

I wish DMB took this advice:

Don't have a picture this time (I suppose I could take one of the empty bottle and glass with just some foam trails on the sides? XD), but I just finished my first bottle of New Belgium's Ranger IPA from the variety pack in my fridge.

I've had a couple of these before (in the first New Belgium variety pack I picked up, waaay back around November of last year), but I'm starting to think my taste buds have definitely shifted around a bit since then. This is a whole lot tastier than I remember it being last time -- I suspect it's because I've gotten more used to hop bitterness, as I remember the bitterness building up to a point where it was almost too much the last time I had this one. This time, it still built up as I got toward the end of the glass, but never got anywhere near the "too much" point (just went from barely-noticeable to "oh hey, yep, a bit of a leafy bitter thing on the end there.") Also feels really, really nice going down.

On a somewhat less positive note, the smell of the beer didn't impress me as much this time as it did the last. Still smells pretty nice, just not "wow! a pine tree just exploded out of this beer bottle!" like it was the first time I opened one.

...in my early days, Golden Monkey and Steel Reserve did most of my talking for me. So my previous comment was PG rated compared to some of the filth I've been known to expel!

We here in California, NorCal specifically, may not have bad ass 12oz or even 22oz BBA Stouts, but at least we don't have a shit-ton (it's a real quantity, look it up) of breweries shitting out Pumpkin beers. To each their own though. We also have a few World Series rings (@Modernrickk what you know about that?) and an NBA Championship trophy.
