    2 Headys isn't a tremendous amount of beer, other than water, yeast, hops malt there's nothing else there vs any other beer. Sorry it doesn't make any sense HT would cause you migranes over any other beer that would be similar. Filtered or unfiltered I don't see much there, but if you believe it doesn't agree with you pass it by and find another, lord knows there's enough up there.

    The most likely answer is your not hydrated enough before you drinking sessions. However if one or two Heady's is causing a similar effect it's possible that it's something specific to one of the ingredients in the beer. Do you have a problem with Focal Banger as well?

    I have migraines. Migraines can be triggered by specific foods. So it is possible that something in the beer is triggering this problem. Could be something specific with the hops or the yeast strain the Alchemist is using. That's why I asked about the Focal Banger.

    Does drinking one give you a headache? Seems to me if it is the yeast one would trigger it as well. They use a 5 hop blend so logically most other IPAs might trigger the same result. Can't believe it would be a hop though, too common across so many styles that you'd be able to connect dots.

    I thought this was going to be the OP's original post. I was in VT earlier this month and drank several Heady and Focal Banger in an evening (maybe 6 total) and felt fine the next day, much better than I would have thought for that much alcohol. At the time, I wondered if the quality of beer made a difference in the severity of the hangover. Don't know if it does or not, but I've never had a bad hangover from Heady.

    That camping trip where my buddy and I killed half a case the night before summiting Mt Mansfield... Now THAT was a Heady hangover.

    Thanks for all of the feedback!
    @NotAlcoholicJustAHobby - Focal Banger doesn't create the headaches at all. Really interesting thought about specific ingredients causing migraines... I'm going to look into that some more.
    @Streaky & @TheIPAHunter - appreciate the reassurance that it's not all in my head.
    @Greywulfken & @Averwo - My tolerance is just fine, I assure you :slight_smile:
    @pnelting - I'll check for some Korean pear juice at the Asian market for sure.

    Not sure if this has been mentioned but it's possible that some brews just don't agree well with certain people. For example I can toss back a couple 16oz beers @ 8% abv with no fear of a hangover. However, give me two Nugget Nectars and I'll have a headache tomorrow for sure. I now limit myself to just one of those for that reason. I've inquired about the reason for the headache in the past but have not come up with a good answer other than some beers just don't agree well with certain folks.

    From my experience lots of things can cause a hangover...dehydration, too much sugar intake, too much alcohol intake, sleep deprivation, drinking on an empty stomach. Remove all of these factors when you drink Heady and if you still get a hangover then you may be on to something.

    Never had a Heady hangover, however, Flying Dog beer seems to kill me the next day.

    Have HT fairly often, usually only one a time though. Have never noticed it causing hangovers worse than other beers, but like others have said, specific ingredients/specific persons genetics, you never know! Feel free to give me the HT you get!
