Shoot out the tires of the truck before it even makes it to the store.

Find out which distribution center carries it
Find out which day they deliver to said store
You can call the distro and talk to a sales rep too
after that it's all about finding out their route and what time but that's the easy part

Please don't become one of those guys. Plenty of other good beers to be had.

Haha, it was 4 bottles per person on Last Snow at the brewery and a bunch of stores. Almost every store with a CCB account got Zhukov once, if not multiple deliveries. It's to the point where if you want limited releases you need to know the delivery days for the distributors. It's not hard, go to the store and ask, they'll tell you. I've been buying from the same stores for a while, the beer buyers get to know you and will let you know when things are coming in and some will hold it for you. I'm not driving to twenty different stores, just the same few on a regular basis. Unfortunately we only have so many FL only beers that are trade worthy, that get distrod, so this is what it's come to. Good luck.

    Chase after beers.
Realize there are other beers just as good as highly sought after beers that you can easily find

I have stalked a truck once. I had inside info that the bottle I wanted was coming. I got this info from an employee of a competing place to where I bought the bottle. He only told me hoping I would buy it from him at his higher price.

Definitely agree OP. This would mean becoming the good kind of truck chaser. Forced into the role for the love of beer.

It's the bad hoarder truck chasers I have a problem with.

As for advice. It's all down to experience. But essentially think like the truck driver. Become the truck driver in your mind. And go where your gut tells you. Happy hunting.

St Louis tends to get new releases in a few days or maybe a week earlier than Columbia so I follow a couple St Louis bottle shops on Facebook. The St Louis places will post their new arrivals and I can usually be assured that those beers will show up at my local place shortly so I start asking the manager.

So OP - you realize that the reason people truck chase it to buy all of the beer? Stockpile bottle by bottle at each store to get as much as possible.

If you just want to get one bottle, then make friends with the beer manager at your local store. My guy saves me a bottle of special releases all the time, and texts me when interesting stuff is coming in. I don't get a case of something, but I usually get a bottle.

I wouldn't waste my time chasing trucks, I can get a sampling of whatever is coming around enough to suit me anyway. The way things release here you couldn't truck chase if you wanted to, they generally always release about the same time same date obviously. So if two Total Wines and Bestway all release Bcbs at 5 on March 5th there is no truck to chase, it's already been in house and they release when they want to. So there a one 4 pm limit, and you can't be in three places at the same time, and you can't get from one to the other to "score". Actually TW had a 2 bottle limit. Retailers are killing the truck chasers at least in Greensboro, and I approve.
