Starting this windy Sunday with a saison. First time I see vitamine C on the label of a beer. Guess I'll need to drink more of this. Winter is coming... Cheers BA!

    Up early today

Very nice pumpkin ale, haven’t had this in a couple years. Flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove; with balanced gingerbread and toasted malt sweetness with some floral/grassy/lightly piney hop notes. Light-moderate bitterness. A bit on the hoppy side for the style but not over done. Really delicious.

My go-to gose as usual. So excellent. Big tart lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, and herbal earthiness. Great acidic/saline balanced finish. Very smooth, crisp, and drinkable. Still waiting on the Blood orange to make it’s way over here. Was August last year, so it shouldn’t be too long now.

Always fantastic. Robust flavors of toasted biscuit, honey, caramel, and nutty malts; with light-moderate herbal/spicy hop flavor and balanced bitterness; with a nice medium-full bodied creamy/bready mouthfeel. Super clean lager flavors, no cloying sweetness. Such an outstanding offering to style every year. This is my normal go-to for the style, but the new Sierra Nevada has also hit that level this year. I still need to buy some Ayinger this year, which is just as fantastic.

Over 4 months old and still fantastic. Huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine; with light-moderate honey/bready malt balance; and a sticky/resinous hop finish with light creaminess. Big pine/citrus rind bitter finish. Great malt/bitterness balance; with plenty of juicy hoppiness. A bit more malty right now, but still plenty of aggressive bitterness; while still remaining very smooth for the ABV. Sierra Nevada IPAs are always the best at holding up over short term age.

    Cheers!

Haken is probably the best modern prog metal band out there right now, honestly. I just discovered their new EP I missed last fall, and it gives me all of those spine tingling prog vibes just like all of their other albums. When music gives you goosebumps, you know it's good.

Morning, beer peeps, and happy Sunday....wow, just noticed next Sunday is the last Sunday of August, damn...where did the summer go?? Enjoy these last few weekends of "summery" weather, folks.....soon, cooler air will be the norm...

Had a great solo sail in my Fireball racing sailboat Saturday afternoon....a bit of a handful for one person (it is a 2 person racing boat with spinnaker and trapeze), but lots of fun for sure! Winds light, which was probably a good thing....this boat only weighs 170#, and has a shit ton of sail area for a 16 foot hull!

Can't believe I got this boat last spring for $100!

    Post sailing celebratory beers!

And now....breakfast....portabella shrooms, green onions and tater fritatta.....yum!

    Cheers all! Enjoy your Sunday!!

Back to work tomorrow after a week vacation. Going to milk this day the best I can. Already know the disasters I'll be walking in to tomorrow. This was bottled 10/23/14.
