Planning on brewing a cream ale this week. I have US-05 at home. Here's my question - Is this good enough or should I stop at the LHBS and get something else? Thanks gang!!

IMO, US-05 would be a great yeast for a Cream Ale. A Cream Ale should have low fruity flavors (low esters) and US-05 will provide that attribute..

    Cheers!

I made a cream ale once using WLP 080 (Cream Ale Blend). It turned out really nice. Although I am sure US-05 would make a nice beer too.

last one i made i used WLP080. i entered that beer in my first ever homebrew contest. didn't win any medals, but it's average score was a 39/50, which is pretty solid, so i'm assuming the yeast worked well

US-05 sounds like it will work fine. I'm experimenting with Wyeast 2112 (California lager yeast) right now and I think it would probably work well with a cream ale. You could play around with the ferm temp to see if you can strike a balance between the lager and ale like characteristics. Just an idea for for future batches!
