I didn't get tickets to the event, but planning on dropping by Sunday for any leftovers (flying in from MN for hood to coast relay). Are there normally leftovers?

@deGardebrewing - curious if there will be bottles of currently available offerings that are not being specifically released for this party available for purchase on the day of the event (hose, cherry gose, etc). I just need to make sure my accountant considers those costs too...

Some stuff will sell out, but there is always a decent selection of bottles left over the following day. Good stuff left on tap as well, so definitely worth stopping by if you miss the event.

I believe that in the past they haven't sold non-event bottles during the event, just as sales are cash-only. The volume of transactions is insane.

I will be visiting Portland this weekend for a few days but missing the party. Do they typically have stuff leftover the day after (sunday)? Would be up for doing an IP if anyine ends up with extra bottles/glassware

Usually there is plenty the next day. This event seems to have Waaaay less people....should be plenty leftover.....just my thoughts based on last time.

    Hey all,
    To answer a few questions;

No, we will not be selling bottles other than those from the release on either Saturday or Sunday. There is just no way to efficiently process those extra variables and avoid excessive waits. Our apologies. We WILL have those bottles available during our normal hours on Thursday and Friday though.

As stated prior, remaining event bottles will go on sale during our normal hours on Sunday, with the same limits. We expect most of them to be available at that point. We are changing the sales location to better help people in a timely manner, as well as provides better taproom experience. It will be at the loading dock in back.

The number of people is the same size as last time and the time before. It will remain that way until our space no longer allows it.

Should be fun. Lots of great beer, both ours and guest, and good food again. See folks soon.

Thanks for the detailed post. I have the option of coming out on Wednesday (or maybe Thursday) and was wondering what bottles you have for sale those days? Just seeing if it is worth the two trips since I am for sure going on Sunday and it is a bit out of the way for my travels.

    Thanks!

FYI, they're only open Thursday & Friday from 3-7pm, Saturday 12-7, and Sunday 12-5, so Wednesday is a no-go. As for bottles, they generally post a picture of their current menu every Wednesday on their facebook page that lists all the draft and bottle options for the weekend.

Last week's list had Cherry Gose, Apricot Bu, Black Raz Bu, Citrus Desay, and Hose available to go. They posted an update saying that the 2 Bu variants sold out, but I suspect the other 3 will still be available when they open this week.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! I might be able to make it down Thursday... staying in Seaside so it isn't too far of a drive. I saw the facebook chalk board and noticed the two bu bottles were sold out :slight_frown: Crossing my fingers that @deGardebrewing finds a secret stash of them for Thursday

Suggestion if driving down from Seaside:
Stop at Pirates Cove. Order anything with crab (breakfast or lunch). Nothing gourmet, but it's good and you will not leave wanting more crab.
Grab a beer (maybe two) at de Garde. Bottles if desired.
Look in air museum next door.
Go to Tillamook Pelican location. Order fried cheese curds and what is sure to be a well made beer.
Drive 8 minutes west to Netarts.
Order a Breakside IPA and some General Tso's wings at the Schooner. Enjoy view, wings, and beer.
Go back to Seaside with improved views for the first part by not taking 101.
Drink Imperial Stout or bottles on the beach.

    Have a designated driver?

Just plan on waiting 2 hours for your wings at Schooners, if the kitchen is open.

+1 to Pirates Cove though. Just north of Garibaldi and worth a stop for lunch (or dinner).

I know not everyone would agree, but I would add a stop for ice cream at the Cheese Factory. Go upstairs to the viewing platform. They have a second serving station that rarely has much of a line.

Cool! Thanks for the tips! I am love ice cream, so I'll have to check that out. I noticed there is a light house (cape mears) which is close to Schooners. Is that worth checking out?

You're missing Tom's bachelor party in Portland by 1 week! Leave me some bottles at de Garde, okay?

Yeah, I know :slight_frown: Hood to Coast is the main reason I am headed out there (and beer haha). I'll do my best to leave some for you. Hoping to fill a 12 shipper to bring back home.

Hey degarde, what are your thoughts on the release beers being available the following Thursday (9/3)? My pops is coming into town and would love to head on down, grab some bottles and do some camping. I normally make it to the parties, but timing didn't work out this time.

Wow, Ba didn't notify me of any of these replies.

I'm going to make a push late Saturday to start cleaning the area, and finish in the mornong. When I spoke with the manager, he was really happy with what we did last time, getting all the bottles centrally located. This not only makes it easier, but gives them some $$s. Also, they are well aware of why all these random knuckledraggers are showing up and they are starting to embrace it, which sucks because rumor has it that the hotel is getting torn down to make room for a better road. 3 parties back, we knew they were not too happy about us anymore so I and a few others contacted shiloh in the hopes of renting their large banquet. Well, after a few days of talks, their attorney in portland called me and said we were not welcome on the property. So if these rumors are true, we need to start getting our shit in line and keeping the hotel keeps happy where ever we all will end up in coming parties. I'm sure I met a bunch of you during previous parties, but the alcohol and thc prevents me from remebering. So find me and let's have a beer or 6. I'm the hairy dude. Profile pic is pretty recent

I really don't know... As always, demand and turnout is variable. Probably a good chance for at least a few, but ?
