I love wheat beers. I love their flavors, but I think what makes them special to me is their very very "fluffy" most feel. I was wondering what everyone thinks of this, and the fluffiest beer you have had, whether wheat or not?

I think what you're referring to is the high-carbonation on most belgian styles. The heavy carb actually smoothes the beer out a lot of times and makes it seem airy. Ara Bier is probably the most visually "fluffy" beer I've had. Most wild-farmhouse beers have a very nice effervescent character. You should probably try getting your hands in some trippels and hefeweizens as well. If you're talking true wheat beer you will love those styles. American versions are good, but often too clean.

I know I always appreciate an excellently crafted German Hefe. They pour extremely fluffy! Nothing says summer like a good Weihenstephaner or Paulaner!

I get the question. Old Mecklenburg Pils, big creamy head like two inches worth. IBUs under 30, I can pull a Pils glass in one swallow, very smooth and mild, lots of flavor.

Evil Twin, Disco Beer. I can't get it on the east coast but every year when visiting Calgary I pick up a few. Tuesday night I had one out there and it "fluffed" up as it always does. Even with a super slow careful poor I always get a ~3" head with yeast residue and the beer it's self is rather creamy for a DIPA.

I found Velvet Merkin to be super fluffy, especially for the ABV.

I'm with the guys suggesting Hefeweizen. To me, they're the best of wheat. Dunkelweizen are also worth checking out in my opinion. Nice and malty? Check. Nice and fluffy? Check.

For a really full-bodied, fluffy Dunkelweizen, I'd suggest Kapuziner Schwarz-Weizen. Super thick, but so drinkable. You'd better like bread, though. You'll be drinking a loaf of it.

I'm with you on the 'fluffy' description. When I first experienced that mouthfeel sensation, I didn't like it. Unlike you, I stayed away from wheat beers because of it. Nowadays I will drink hoppy wheat beers, but most of the other wheats are low on my 'like' list.

I did a search of the beer section using 'wheat' as by keyword, and here's the list. I glanced at the first few, and they seem fairly easy to find if you want more of these wheat beers. http://www.beeradvocate.com/search/?q=Wheat&qt=beer

I think Brooklyn Black Ops has a very wispy fluffiness to it. But I don't think it's worth the price

First thing i thought of was a fluffy head.....Green Flash Rayon Vert. As long as you can pour the damn thing without pouring a glass of foam, that shit is fluffier than Gabriel Iglesias.

Tripel Karmeliet and La Fin du Monde come to mind as being "fluffy" on the mouthfeel. I also describe it as somewhat "powdery" but fluffy is another good way to describe it. Also, I think that beers fermented with champagne yeast seem to feature a fluffy mouth feel as a result - Brooklyn Local 2 had that and was powdery/fluffy (and as @MistahBeah said in the post above) Brooklyn Black Ops is also brewed using champagne yeast.
