I must say I was less than excited to see pumpkin beers arriving in my local beer stores. Last year I went pumpkin crazy and tried 37 different pumpkin brews. By February I was pumpkin'd out. Unless I have a change of heart when the weather cools and autumn arrives, I think I will limit my purchases to a few favorites. What about you?

I'm not a big pumpkin beer fan but I do cigar city good gourd with Thanksgiving each year and tried a couple of the more popular pumpkin beers last year and wasn't impressed. I do like Avery rumpkin though.

I just had my first one this year so more. I will probably only try 4-5 of them though.

Every year I have a plan for pumpkin ales that falls apart and I end up buying random ones that I find underwhelming because the few good ones haven't arrived yet or are all gone. So this year I thought I was being smart and just bought a case of Night Owl when it first came out a few weeks ago. Yeah, that's gone.

Less. Pumking is now available in my area, so I don't need to bother hunting for local pseudo-replacements.
I just need 5-6 bottles of Pumking (and/or Warlock) and I'm set.

Have you tried Upslopes? I bought a ton of that last year and liked it better than Pumking. Thought Pumking was kind of a let down after all the hype (but was still glad to have found some, finally).

I usually just buy a four pack of Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale every Year. I will do the same this year.

I went a little crazy last year. With a backlog and less of a desire this year, I will buy only a few.

This year I'll buy a 4 pack instead of the usual bomber of Southern Tier if they're still around when I finally get in the mood for some so technically more. I'm usually over it after 22oz... Hopefully 4-12s aren't to daunting.

I'll buy a 4 pack AT MOST. Probably Lakefront's brandy barrel aged pumpkin beer.

Doesn't bother me when they come out. I suppose they're slightly less appealling when it's 80 degrees out, but I enjoy them nonetheless, regardless of how trendy it is to bash them. I've already gone through at least a combined case of Weyerbacher, Spooky Tooth, Whole Hog, KY Pumpkin Barrel, and Smuttynose.

Less. Had one Pumking and one Schlafly pumpkin last year and swore I'd never drink another pumpkin beer. Just not my thing.

I only snag a pumpkin beer if I've never had it and looks interesting. I keep my wife awash in pumpkin sixers every few weeks or so, though... so a little less but not my much.

Yeah, it's a good one. GABF gold winner I think, as well. Dry Dock's is good and Uinta's Oaked Jacked is, too.
That said, I still think Pumking is still the best mainstream option. It has a vanilla/cookie note that is a Southern Tier hallmark. While not always a good fit, it's magic with pumpkin. The only one better (IMO of course) is Shlafly and I don't expect to see it in CO any time soon.
