I have not had issues. But if that has been ramping up, UPS works well for me too. Note to my sender: I am pretty active on untappd tracking what I drink. So use my wants and if you cant find anything accessible on there- feel free to just look at what I rated highly on there. Also, I just accepted a new job. I do not know the timeframe yet, but my address may change around the time of shipping.
and now for a hint. Hint 1: My box will probably be just wants. My target has a bunch and I am going to destroy them. NEW Hint 2: Shipping West. Huge shocker- I know.
Hint #4: my target has very similar taste in beer to mine, judging by wants and I think I can tick off some major ones straight from my cellar.
Typically Wants trump 85 requirement, but I recommend making those the "extras" in the box (ie make sure that the first 144oz to go in the box is top notch, and those Wants be 'filler').
This is why it's great to have a well-fleshed out Wants list. I'm not saying everyone needs to go through the Top 250 List and add every beer on it, but put some thought into it and it will give your sender (senders, plural, if you think you'll do more BIFs in the future) a lot more to go on than just "I like stouts and IPAs"
Is the goal for this BIF to drink all of these in a decent amount of time? I know for 12DoS that the days were planned out. Not that we are forcing anyone to finish everything, but just encouraging everyone not put them in their cellar for years?
No, that's just specific to that BIF, because in most other BIFs (and trading in general) beers will often go into the cellar, 12 Days is set up specifically to be the opposite of that. I would generally encourage people to not hoard beer (I know from experience how much of a pain it can become) however it's by no means in the rules or anything.
Speaking of posting pics, I should mention that posting of hauls (a photo and hopefully description as well) of what you received is not really considered optional, it is expected. Posting pics of you enjoying the beers, very nice though it is, is completely optional.
Hint #1 - I'm shipping to a state that has multiple people participating in this BIF. Hint #2 - My target has under 100 beers on their want list.
