I just made my first trade this week. When I went to ups they had me fill out what I was shipping. I said maple syrup and honey. I imagine I can't say the same thing everytime (or can I?) What else should I say I'm shipping?

I'm like you and am new to trading and for my first trade I shipped with FedEx. I just did my shipping label at home and dropped it off at any FedEx distributor and they didn't ask a thing. I'm sure UPS is the same way although I'm not entirely sure.

I typically tell them its BBQ sauce. Doesn't seem too fat fetched to me that someone could be making their own BBQ sauce and shipping it around the country

Just say "samples". If they ask further say "food samples". You don't need to be specific. Less is more. This is appropriate in shipping beer, business and over all life.

Print your label at home/work and drop off. No questions asked.

Set up an account and print your label from home and no one asks. They just take your box and you're out the door before its even scanned into the system.

Before that it was "place settings, text books, power tools, car parts, and auto detailing products" the last one is legit because I used to trade detailing products thru autogeek.net

I set up a ups account online and print/pay online. Then just drop off. They never ask what's in it if your just dropping off. At least at my ups.
