My concern is as noted in my previous post. There could potentially be 1225 posts (30.6 pages) of this before he declares a winner. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want to sift through 31 pages of guessing to find that one hint I'm looking for. Just my thoughts
That's been done. There's a BIF called the "gang bang" where a bunch of people get together (the Philly team sends to the Houston team who sends to Boston, etc) rather than individuals, and then all the beer received makes up a bottle share. In a recent round, so much was sent by the one team (including a sixtel) that they used a pallet.
Question on BIF etiquette - If I grab something that normally is sold in a 4 or 6 pack, is it cool to send 2/4/6? Or is more value placed on variety? So I should only send 1 or 2 PsuedoSue 12 ozers instead of the whole 4 pack?
Sheer curiosity question...when does everyone think they'll ship? I know the deadline is end of month but just curious if anyone is planning on shipping earlier or should proper time be allotted to ensure high quality boxes. My goal is to ship in the middle of the month after a planned trip to out of town brewery.
Hint #6 - according to BA's Top 100 list for each state, I have drank more than 10 beers from my target's state's Top 100
Depends on the beer. Generally speaking 1 or at most 2 is typical, but for something as great as Psuedo Sue, I would make an exception and might send the whole 4pk. Tipping the scale would be if my target was particularly into hops, and even more so if it was a Want or I knew they'd never had it. I would also consider the 3rd/4th to be 'extras' and would make sure that without them, the box were still sufficient for what I was trying to accomplish.
Getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow so I'm waiting until I get back to see what I bring back beer wise. Usually ship on Mondays so I'll either ship the 14th or the 21st.
Hint #1 - Shipping west Hint #2 - I have shipped to this state before Hint #3 - My target is not one of the more prolific posters in this thread
So post some hints...? People giving away free beer is always welcome. That's not how LIFs work. Everyone involved has a chance to guess once, and once guessing is closed, the closest guess wins (give or take PiR rules), free beer is generously given away by someone, and a pic of the haul is posted once it arrives. Life moves on. The Beer it Forward subcommunity is significantly more "community" oriented than ISO:FT, and as such will veer off-topic (sometimes just a little, sometimes a lot) pretty often. I can't say I know anyone that is a regular contributor that would have it any other way. Fortunately, LIF guesses are usually pretty easy to sift through and while they lengthen the thread, they don't typically confuse the issue much as the posts are succinct and easy to recognize.
This is perfect timing. As long as it's communicated, and the BIF isn't dependent on a date (such as the 6 Days of Halloween etc) it's usually ok even if this is after the close of the shipping window. Special trips notwithstanding, I personally tend to ship toward the end of the window, both because I'm a horrible procrastinator and because I want to ensure I've spent ample time planning/shopping. Nothing at all wrong with earlier than that either.
I'm basically traveling non-stop until mid-September, so will probably ship towards the end of the month.
