I'm taking a wild guess here that I am not the only member of this site who's had a hangover or [insert large number here]. Is there particular beer that you actually crave the next day after a rough night?

For me, it depends on the season. In summer, I (yes, I will admit this), I crave a macro light beer. I don't know why. In winter, a stout seems to be the hair of the dog. What's your "I'm hungover but still need a beer" beer?

Natty Light hits the spot just on pure routine since college. although a nice stout/porter hits the spot as long as soccer is on, saturday/sunday.

Nothing. I rarely ever get hung over but when I do, I don't want any alcohol. Give me some greasy food and lots of water.

I crave that too sometimes but often the greasy food seems to taste better with beer lol.

A cup of coffee w/ a shot of bourbon in it usually helps a little.

A few months ago there was a hangover thread and a user said that they learned from someone to chug a 32 oz. Gatorade before bed to avoid a hangover.
I've done that ever since whenever I drink a lot. It's worked every time too. I haven't had a hangover all summer.

So to that user who posted that, thank you.

Light and spritzy always hits the spot for me- and I'd assume that the added salt would give you some needed electrolytes. Gose definitely seems like a natural for that situation, maybe I should keep some in the medicine cabinet .

taking a vitamin B pill works too. B complex supplement will work wonders the night before and the day of. also taking it completely sober causes some crazy dreams at night, no complaints here.

Most of the worst symptoms of a hangover...ie headache...are simply caused by dehydration. Ethanol is a diuretic, which is why you always need to take a piss shortly after drinking a couple pints. If you don't replenish the water that is lost, you will be dehydrated the next morning. The reason you haven't had a hangover is because of the water in the Gatorade. Some of the ions (potassium, sodium) may help a bit but, for the most part its the water. I drink several cups of water (probably around ~30 fl oz) after a night of drinking and it always works like a charm. I choose it over Gatorade simply because I don't want the 200+ calories of sugar that comes with the Gatorade...especially after drinking so much beer lol. Just a small tip to prevent our waistbands from growing any more than they have to from this hobby. Hahaha.

I have heard from many people over the years that drinking water is the key. However, by the third beer, I have forgotten that "this is the time I am going to try this."
