Cucumber Saison has been the exact same way. Last year it was pretty bad, this year back on point.

i may get shit for this but for me it's FFF..ZD is outstanding and Backmasking was good..but other 4-5 beers i've had from them ranged from not that good to average..and Dark Lord is way overrated..just my opinion..but i wouldn't stop trying their stuff because of it..most breweries have misses.

Flat beer is THE WORST. block 15 had some issues with Super Nebula last year. The carbonated bottles were great, but about 50% of them were flat and for some reason that really affects the taste for me. had to drain pour one :slight_frown:

Quickly, there are too many options out there right now. If they make one go to brew that is enough for me to return and try a few others. I've stopped going to an established brewery because they completely went away from what was working and didn't notice. I'll make the hour plus drive instead of the 10 min bike ride for better tasting beer. Knee Deep Brewery visit over Sudwerks. To answer your last question, yes, the alchemist but mainly do to losing their brewery due to a flood but what they are doing now is working, staying with their main style and doing one offs or small batches of other recipes, except that I can't get any here in California.

Knee Deeps consistency seems pretty good. At least in bottles, I almost never notice any deviation. The undercarbonated Deep River was about all I can remember. Not sure if Lupulin was the replacement for that, but it is stellar

White Birch. A friend brought me 4packs of their raspberry and regular berliner weiss. There were inconsistencies from can to can from the SAME 4pack. How the hell do you manage that???

I thought I was the only one that noticed these variations lately, have you noticed that an old work boot flavor has also become more present, perhaps replacing some of the rotten corpse in Natty? Also, I own a husky, if you are missing some of that urine flavor, I could send you some.lmfao

I would argue that Magic Hat is CONSISTENTLY below average. While I haven't had them for years due to personal choice, they were very good at making every beer, regardless of style, taste the same. Turned me off instantly.

Pretty much this. I didn't have much Goose Island prior to it being bought by Budweiser, would you veterans out there say that it was as inconsistent prior to being bought out?

    Furthermore, nice profile picture.

Sofie and Matilda are far from sub-par.

One could argue that Sam Adams falls under this designation, but when you use the shotgun approach, it's to be expected.

I knew there would be many examples of this, guess I'm surprised there are so many. I will probably just end up viewing this place as a stout brewery. Consistency is solid on those. Will definitely be much more careful with the IPAs however.

Kuhnhenn. I have been up that way a few times now, every time the DRIPA has tasted differently. One time they even said that they ran out of one type of hops so they just subbed in a different type. You would think if they changed recipe, the least they could do would be change the name.

Big brewers - Köstritzer. Sometimes the Schwarzbier is amazing, sometimes it's hard to drink.

Most local breweries here, especially the newer ones. Batch to batch. The ones going back to the mid 90's tend to be more consistent.

Often, though, the justification I hear for drinking local is about supporting local because it is local, and not necessarily because the beer tastes better than the others in your market, or how consistent they are, or whether they are priced competitively, etc.
