    From what I could tell the best idea is to just put all the beer you can into whatever size box you have. Thats usually appropriate for this group. If you have beer left over get another box.

    On a separate note. Anyone interested in being my Rare Barrel Trustee? Or know of someone who would be? I'm debating on this and if I could find someone in here I would be all over it. Would definitely hook you up with beer and of course you would be willing to buy bottle releases through me.
    Cheers!

    Pretty solid extras I'd say!

    Thanks a ton @valrxman

    Oh yeah, definitely like this one. @NickyPogs already texted me about drinking one of those beers with him this saturday. I'll give a Prop to the first person that can guess what beer that is... JOKING! Well, at least about the Prop part.

    The best part about this hint is that it could theoretically eliminate 2 people, but you shipped to both of them in the last two rounds so I figured they weren't your target anyway (although I'm not sure if that's an "official rule")

    NBO - Horizontalhood Trip #14

    If you would like to be in consideration to be the recipient of a 6-shipper box filled with great stuff, please BM me your shipping address (or just say "it's in the directory"). If you would prefer to skip this trip and sign up for a future trip, don't send me anything and wait for the next person to post their NBO to sign up. Also, please let me know IF there are any specific styles you do or don't like, since that may impact what's in the box or who I choose. Signup period ends at 11:59PM on September 6th. Sunday night I will randomly select the recipient and start posting hints as to who it is. Box will be shipped shortly after the winner is chosen!

    Trip #1 - Texas (@Clarkson )--> Illinois (@Ncpogs )
    Trip #2 - Illinois (@Ncpogs )--> NJ (@Syracuse12)
    Trip #3 - NJ (@Syracuse12) --> VA (@Dave_Treat)

    Trip #8 - IN (@MCMASTERSANCHEZ --> NY (@Mikexw)
    Trip #9 - NY (@Mikexw) --> IL (@mbmiche)

    Trip #11 - NC (@treznor) --> MD (@_RL_)
    Trip #12 - MD (@_RL_) --> CA (@wheelzntoys)
    Trip #13 - CA (@wheelzntoys) --> TX (@rspauldi)
    Trip #14 - TX (@rspauldi) --> ??????

    See official rules below....
    ----------------------------------------------
    How Horizontalhood works:

    1) Some of my favorite beers have come from a brewery “Sampler” trade where I ask my trading partner to throw in a whole brewery’s lineup. If I didn’t do this, I would have only had Lunch, and not a tiny beautiful something. I might have only had Jai Alai and not Tocobaga. I night have only had Miller Lite and not MGD (just seeing if anyone is paying attention). So the purpose of this BIF is to showcase your local brewery’s line up and send something that wouldn’t normally be asked for. Show that your local brewery is not a one trick pony.
    2) The current holder of the Horizontalhood box will make a post in the Locals BIF thread saying that the signup period for the next Trip is open and will be open for 2 or 3 (or 9) days. Anyone that would like to be a potential target for the box would send their address information in a BM to the current holder of the box. To be eligible the person must have:
    a) participated in Locals BIF rounds 1, 2 (summer 6'er), 3, 4 (Winter 6’er), ACJ BIF or be one of the new faces (avatars) that have recently joined us prior to this Trips NBO post -- that's basically the guys (and gal) in the directory and about 3 or 4 others.
    b) have not already received the Horizontalhood box.
    3) After the signup period is over, the current holder will randomly pick the next lucky recipient of the Horizontalhood box. They will not announce this person nor the number of people that signed up, but instead will start posting hints as to where the box is going (BIF style hints). If no one signs up to be the next recipient then, as the original founder, @Clarkson will be the final recipient (hopefully without him knowing that it is coming to him).
    4) The holder of the Horizontalhood box will fill the box with high quality local bottles from A SINGLE LOCAL BREWERY ONLY, and ship it to the target. Make it a kickass box, but with this group of people I know we won't have to worry about that. Also, add the targets name to the tracking board in the box and add any 'decorations' that you wish to help commemorate the box's visit to your state. You may add one piece of swag in place of one beer, but it has to come from the brewery that is in the box.
    5) Once the box is received by the target, they will post the pr0n for all to enjoy.
    6) Start over at #1

    You do not have to enter every signup period. You can pick and choose when you want to be in consideration to be the next recipient. This would be nice if the current holder of the box is from your own state or an adjoining state.
    Cheers!

    Sign ups will end at 11:59 PM PT Sunday, September 6th.

    OK -- so I got a Fedex notification about a 40 pound (:grimacing:) box arriving from California. Then I got home, and my wife's car was in front of the garage, probably because of the monster box in front of the garage door. However, she was on her way back out and didn't even comment on it, so after she left I dragged it inside.

    Anyway... I carried this load inside, thinking to myself "this is more than 40 pounds"...[IMG]

    and since I couldn't stand not knowing, I ran upstairs to get the bathroom scale and figured out that it actually weighed 60!!! pounds.

    So I opened the sucker up and managed to lower it to the floor without hurting myself...

    [IMG]

    this was a BIG box, and it looked like it was mainly bottles, not packing materials. I didn't realize California was part of Florida until I saw this...

    And since I don't want to be a tease, on to the pRon..

    First, the (relatively) little corked-lid guys and the crowlers...

    [IMG]

    Stone Imperial Stout crowler - I have 2012 and 2014 bottles from @utvols that I haven't opened yet, I assume this is a 2015
    The Lost Abbey Track #8 - one of the few things here I have had in the past -- the good news is that I've never had anything from the Lost Abbey that I didn't like, even when it was not one of my preferred styles. This was no exception.
    The Lost Abbey Framboise de Amarosa - I think this may have been the only offical "want" in here, but that's partly because I would rather let my sender send me should-be wants.
    Stone Fyodor's Classic (2014 Stone Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels) - sounds amazing and if I drink it with the two non-BA ones maybe that's a diagonal?
    Russian River Damnation - another one I have had, but I ain't compaining
    The Lost Abbey Santo Ron Diego - more Lost Abbey, and the name of it reminds me of one of my favorite baseball memories of all time!
    Stone Liberty Station Mattzen - another crowler, I think this one's an Oktoberfest, although I guess this year it will be a Septemberfest

    Moving right along, we get to a whole bunch of bombers...
    [IMG]

    Beachwood Brewing Mocha Machine- this sounds amazing, and I am guessing this will be one of my favorites in the box (even though I never heard of it)
    El Segundo Mayberry IPA- I just finished working off my IPA inventory while unpacking (I think I have two left, one of which has been claimed by my wife and one of which I bought yesterday) so this is apprecaited
    Fifty-fifty Eclipse Imperial Stout - brewed with honey, aged in oak barrels, destined for my belly
    El Segundo Hop Tanker DIPA - another yummy sounding CaliforniPa
    Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout - another one I have had, but I love it. We are actually hosting a labor day get together, and while no BA's will be in attendence, a few guys who appreciate good beers will be there, this may be shared
    Beachwood Citraholic IPA- see IPA comments above
    Knee Deep Brewing Hop Shortage - I have had this in the past but it's VERY hard to find. However, in the true spirit of BIFing, this might actually end up in my target's box this round!
    Pipeworks Raspberry Truffle Abduction - I have loved everything Pipeworks I've had, and while the name does not particularly appeal to me, I'm guessing the beer will!
    Drake's Denogginizer- I never heard of this, but love the name and the label... and it's another CaliforniPa

    AND NO -- I'M NOT DONE!!!!

    This damn box was like a clown car...moving on to the big guys and swag...

    [IMG]

    Midnight Sun Berserker Imperial Stout - I've never had this, but actually have access to it, so this one may get passed on (although it sounds incredibly delicious) -- I think I've sent this to a couple of other locals already
    The Bruery Mash & Grind (2014)- this is a Barleywine, but I sort of stopped paying attention after "The Bruery" -- this is the first of three Bruery beers in here, and is it bad that I'm excited about having #pgw that I appropriated from a bar last year?
    Cascade Sang Royal- another candidate for the beer in here I am most excited about, although I'm pretty sure my favorite fellow local will make me sure
    The Bruery Oaked Old Richland- another Bruery barleywine
    The Bruery Bottleworks XII- this one's a wild ale, and I'm getting tired of typing!
    Lone Pint Yellow Rose - I have had this one in the past too, and loved it.

    And last but not least, a couple of Bruery coasters and a really unique Stone glass (I might use it for the crowlers etc, but that might mean 8 checkins #dontwanttobelikeLehigh)

    So holy shit -- whoever invited @campa86 into the Locals -- I owe you! Except for thinking he's from Florida with this ridiciulous box, he seems like an awesome BA. And another Mike in the group is always welcome!

    Thanks so much Michael @campa86 for an absolutely ridiculous box -- the IPA's and crowlers will be going in the fridge tonight or tomorrow, but will still last me a couple of weeks. And the two hours unpacking, researching, and posting were worth it!!

    Ooh -- I almost forgot the group shot... [IMG]

    For those scoring at home (or even if you're alone)...

    20 bottles, 2 crowlers, 475 ounces with a weighted average ABV of 9.6% and a weighted average BA score of 93%.

    Way to set the bar high, @campa86 !! (no pun intended)

    Sorry ive been quite inactive the past couple of weeks. This past and upcoming month have been and will be extremely busy for me. Started a new job at a bank (putting that recently earned degree to use hopefully) and still contemplating whether its a good idea to jump right back into classes this semester even tho it starts tomorrow. Figured 1 class wouldnt hurt but getting a job that could lead to a potential lifelong career leaves me with no rush to take classes i guess.

    Im most especially sorry to my target for my lack of hints. However i am chipping away at your box, im beginning to think it might be best to send in 2 parts. Seeing as you probably have no clue who you are, just expect a surprise fedex notification or a surprise on your front step!

    Hint: Your username and my real name have something in common.
