Of course this gets bumped and I'm feeling the emotions all over again of the last sip of my BA Night Falls.

I have wanted to like these guys and they do usually have 1 or 2 great beers on, but 80% of what is on, usually sucks. I stop in about once every month and a half and they have improved tremendously to brew certain beers so well now, but they put beers on that they have to know suck, but refuse to dump anything. Right from opening day, they will embrace obvious flaws and collectively agree on the story that everyone will say about how that is exactly what they were going for and that most "Americans" just aren't familiar with it. They should be doing test batching at home and being more forthcoming with their customers. If there is an issue... a really obvious issue... don't frame the consumer as the problem. Own it and tell questioning customers that it was the first time trying a new style and that the brewers learned that they need to do A, B or C for the next batch.

Only time I've ever been there was for the BA Night Falls release, and I was impressed with the stouts and IPA's. I didn't try anything else... not good? Which should I avoid?

I tried the Pineapple Dreams (or whatever they called their pineapple cream ale they did for the fair) when I was at the fair and I was disappointed. Was looking forward to see what a pineapple beer could be like, but I really couldn't focus on that aspect as the beer had a distinct "homebrew" funk on the finish, probably from fermenting too warm? Real bummer.

I love stouts and they had a solid one about a year ago (forgot the name), but almost all of them now are just varying degrees of chocolate and vanilla. And if I was 12 years old, I would be very excited by a place making all different shades of milkshakes. I just wish that they would make more stouts/porters that were not made to taste like they were inspired by a Whitman's Sampler. When I was in there a couple of weeks ago, they did have on Star Gazer, which is a solid IPA and even a good session IPA. Stouts and IPAs seem to be all that they have been able to really catch onto, but these even took them time to get right. Every other beer that I have had from them outside of these two categories has fallen anywhere from average at best to poor for some seriously flawed beers.

The last seriously flawed beer I had at LTD was their Australian IPA earlier in the year but I probably do not go there as often as opwog. A lot of their sours have been poor, but most of those were sampled at the Hollywood Roadhouse where Paul adds a lot of crap to the keg or cask LTD does for him. HR has a LTD stout on that they were trying to do a peanut butter, chocolate, milk stout. It was just OK. I need to try the Dangerous Man example to fully gage this flavor profile.

You will definitely taste the raspberry. Overall, not too bad.

Drinking a big ass IPA from them right now. Higher carbonation than I would like, but overall not at all shabby. My bro in law gave me a bottle of it for my birthday last night. Sleep Walker or something like that.

If you could only have two beers from LTD...what would they be?
