We're going to stop for lunch and a couple of beers Friday on our way to Penn State. I've had some of their stuff - Eternal Sunshine, Sunny Side Up - but if anyone can recommend something on the current list that would be great. Also, how much are growlers/crowlers typically, and do they fill outside growlers? Can't seem to find a policy on the web site. Last, any best bets on that lengthy food menu they have? Thanks.

After his recent social media outburst, I will not go there anymore. But, I will say they do have great pizza and wings. Not sure of Sun Kissed is still on tap, but that was awesome. As far as crowlers/growlers, crowlers were like $10-12 if I can remember correctly and growlers were like $12-18. Enjoy.

From the PB selections currently on I'd go with in no particular order: Hater's Tears, Murren River, Ninja SNPA, Trung Latte (really low ABV milk stout), or any of the other ones currently not on.

If you're not from the Tired Hands area any of their beers that are still on Friday are worth a shot, especially the IPA's.

32oz crowlers/growler fills can be anywhere from $9 and up depending on the beer. Most are in the $9-$10 range though. They do fill outside growlers as well.

As for food you can't go wrong with pizza and wings.

    Enjoy!

Pizza is good, haven't had any of their other stuff. Most 32oz growler/crowler fills will run you around 10-12 as was said above, 64oz is usually only $1 more. They will fill outside glass in my experience, their own growlers are $5 if you need to stock up (at least the 32oz ones were last time I got one)

Thanks, everyone. We live in Philly so Tired Hands is pretty accessible. Looking forward to trying a few more from Pizza Boy.

Ha. As season ticket holders we're all too familiar with the traffic. Hoping to get to Pizza Boy around 11 a.m. when they open and then hopefully beat most of the game traffic into State College.

They do not necessarily fill outside growlers, at least last time I was there. Apparently the opening of the growler has to be a certain diameter to fit their filling tube. The bartender was a real jerk about it and really did not do a good job explaining their policy, so I haven't been back since.

One of their employees was a jerk? That's a shocker.

I understand this is nowhere near a free forum and if I am censored or banned so be it, just trying to pass along relevant information from my experience to the OP.

They have installed new faucets(with flow control) on all of their taps within the last couple months, so they will fill any growler that will fit underneath the taps, now. They did not used to be able to fill the 1L and 750mL swing top growlers because the hose they had would not fit in them. Not sure when you were there, but I would venture to guess it was before the new faucets were installed.

Bring your own growlers to fill with tired hands, they won't fill crowlers of them. Also, DO NOT ask to sample ANYTHING! You will get major eye rolling and under the breath grumbles about trying a beer before you buy one.

Good, I'm glad they cleared that up. Yeah it was before they changed their set up

I agree on the Murren River. It brings a smile to my face every time I take a huge whiff of that blissful aroma and then sipping some of that golden nectar!!!
