    Morning, beer people!

Picked this one up recently.....another great Ohio beer.....used to drink Christian Moerlein "back in the day" before it was called "craft beer"...haha :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, there have always been several things very important in my life......boats, books, and beers!

Here's to Books and Beers today!!

A little light reading of one of my favorite periodicals, with a fellow zombie tonight...good morning/good night morning folks! It's midnight Tuesday here and I like this grapefruity DIPA at 8.5%:

Monday we drove 3+ hours south to Rotorua, the town rebuilt in the crater of a volcano, to see the thermal springs, mud pots, and sulphur lake. The Bath House completed 1908 for bathing in the hot sulphuric waters:

The view of Rotorua Lake from the roof of the Bath House (now a pretty cool museum). Note that the right side of the lake is white from up bubbling sulphur, and the left side is blue. Neat.

One of the many thermal springs, and mud pots...they were everywhere!

    Good reading, and Cheers!

Things to do, music to listen to, books to read, beer to drink…

Has it really been 60 days since #1,000 already?

    This morning's sacrifice :

I'm disappointed. I could have picked up a second bottle of Central Waters' Brewers Reserve, Dark Horse Sapient TripAle, or Founders Porter instead of this (to make a six pack). I wanted the variety to make reviews with, and I'm knowing now that it was a big mistake. The Central Waters beer was $17.99 for four. An easy choice for a $10 mix a six, but I only bought one instead. This might be the worst Leinenkugel's I've had. Anyways...

    a review :

    3.39/5 rDev +3.4%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance : Pours a beautiful copper-amber colored body with about 60% opacity. The head is large and popcorn colored, 3 fingers, and eventually recedes to about 1 finger. Lacing is left in vertical puddles on the sides of the glass.

Smell : Quite a bit of alcohol and antiseptic out front, followed by some oaky notes and spice, with aged barley malts. The bouquet is medium strength.

Taste : Lots of roasted grain, with aged wood chips (presumably oak here), followed by a bit of dry antiseptic and alcohol. It actually tastes a bit like a badly brewed Wee Heavy. It ends on a slight plum note.

Feel : Medium bodied, creamy, roasted, ends slightly drying on the palate.

Overall : I skipped over a second bottle of Central Waters' Brewers Choice Scottish Ale for this (mix-a-six). I haven't tried that one yet, but it's gotta be better than this. Variety over quality? Mistake. A major let down.

Cheers you all and A lovely day to you. Today I have new chips, new chocolate and new beer. I also have some good decisions to make. Let's see fruit or chips? Fruit or chips? Anyway see that fat little blank book under those candy bars. I have been keeping journals for a very long time. My latest are beer journals. I will be back later with a book that someone else wrote though.
