If I'm reading this right it seems like the breweries in each region will collaborate on a single beer to be placed into a mix pack? Probably 2 of each beer to make the "6 supergroups" fill out a 12 pack. If that's the case, I feel like there is a much higher potential for disappointment.

IMO there were a lot more misses than hits in the last SN Beer Camp pack.

Last Spring's Hoppy Pilsner was a good result of a previous years effort - but even that was a different recipe than the original Beer Camp one.

    Color me meh with collaborations.

Also, would have been cool if that had included La Cumbre or someone outside of Cali for the SW grouping.

Not invited to collaborate: Otter Creek and Jack's Abby.

Can't wait for SN to tarnish the reputations of these breweries by waiting a month+ to get their fresh beer on the shelves.

If I'm recalling correctly, it was closer to 3 months by the time they hit MA last time

After last years pack, I can't say I'll be looking very hard for this one.

Maybe the six breweries will brew their own IPAs and then they'll blend them for the Beer Camp version! Camp Sauce?

I barely think of SoCal as part of the southwest, especially the beer scene. It's just SoCal to me. Such a different place than Arizona or New Mexico.

Any hoppy beers in this collaboration are going to be disappointing, just because they're not going to be able to get ahold of the eight zillion tons of mosaic/citra/etc that would be required to produce a true Trillium style IPA in great enough quantity for national distribution. However, many of the non-hoppy styles in the 2014 pack were quite good. Hopefully most of the "supergroups" go in that direction.

Why? IMO not a single memorable beer in the whole 12 pack last year. Plus found stores months after bottling. Collabs rearly work out.

6 groups of 6 breweries. SN ever hear the expression. "Too many chefs spoil the stew"

My guess here, is 3/4 of the breweries in each "super group" will contribute knowledge, discussion, direction, and opinion. Very few will have anything hands on to do with the beer.

Beer Camp was hot garbage last year outside of the Ninkasi collab. Definitely won't waste my time in raffles or any other nonsense for it this year. If this stuff doesn't collect dust on shelves here in New England I'd be pretty surprised.

Beer Camp was the biggest letdown of last year for me.
