I know all the fruit stands on draft were most people's first choice, but did anyone else absolutely love the saison blend. Man that was good.

I'm already trying to figure out how to make my way up there for the apricot cut and the sp peach collab. The apricot fs was my favorite hands down and to get a beer with double the fruit will be lights out. What I thought was interesting was the amount of people traveling from all over the country. Have a feeling next month will be crazy.

Double the fruit and a different base beer, don't forget. The Cut uses Oak Theory as a base while Fruit Stands and Family Preserve use Saison. All are incredible of course.

If you're referring to the cut we have to wait until next month to know. Apricot fs was on draft and was amazing.

@omgeezo was referring to your use of the term draft, I assume. Everything poured at Casey is from bottles, not kegs, thus not draft.

Oh....I see. Sorry for the confusion. I've actually never gone to the bar. I'm the one waiting in line while people bring me beers.

Troy does do some things, very limited, in kegs. Most, if not all, of what is being released over GABF will be kegged.

Yup, most definitely aware, but what I said was that everything poured at Casey is from bottles - I was quoting a post referring to draft pours at Casey.

I was wondering if anyone had tried this yet. What a great line-up of beers that was released and available for pours.

    hahaha, indeed.

Drinking the sweet cherry preserves right now. The fruit treatment reminds me of what I get from 3F's Kriek. The essence is there, but it's tart and not sweet. The base beer (saison I assume) starts to come out more after a few minutes. It adds a unique texture and body I don't know if I've had with a beer with this much fruit. I like it a lot. After having a lot of Belgian krieks in the last couple weeks, this one can hang with them even if it isn't a clone of one.

Seems like a lot of people are driving up the night before and sleeping in their cars now, putting lawn chairs in their line to "hold their spot", or so I've been told... Of the releases I've been to, I've never left my house before 5:30 ish AM or so. But I may not be going to any more releases after what (I heard) happened at the September release...

And what would that be? I was there and everything seemed to run just fine.

I've just gone the route of getting a hotel. It's bad enough having to wake up early on a Saturday in town. Waking up at 4AM is where I draw the line. This last one was definitely a VERY early line, while the previous two were relaxed. You could have rolled up at 11 for the one in August. The one on 9/5 technically sold out of the first allotments just after 7AM, although Troy was nice enough to spot people some extras. 2nd tier allotments lasted much longer, though.

The chair thing was odd. There were clearly more people than chairs and at a certain point I kinda wonder where you draw the line. Can I drop off a chair on Friday night and then head off to a hotel or do I have to stay within a certain radius? Can my chair represent multiple people? How early is too early to be represented by a chair avatar?

Even with the possibility of totally missing out, I kinda like the idea of a ticket pre-sale or 100% reserve membership like CS used to have. I'd just like to know where I stand before driving 2-3 hours in the middle of the night and/or getting a hotel. I'm sure that might not be practical for Troy and am okay with that, too...just throwing out a personal preference.

It would be a lot easier if the beers weren't good enough to justify any of this :grinning:

Assuming it's 120 people in line before 6am.
