Just saw this on a hulu ad break.

    https://www.yuengling.com/our_tv/

Click on the standard beer ad.

Getting some major deja vu here. And here I thought Yuengling was craft now. Sure it's not quite as overt as the AB super bowl ad, but it's the same kind of message. It's kind of suprising to a general lack of any kind f back lash against it.

The anti-craft demographic is a hell of a drug.

Very true. I know a lot of folks who LOVED that super bowl ad. Apparently trying to capitalize and reach those same people

As a fan of craft beer, but not waiting in lines for said beer, I can't take issue with the ad.

Great tunes. I'm not sure exactly what demographic the ad is trying to reach so I'm not sure who should be involved in the backlash (if there is any).

Drank plenty of Lager back in the day; now it's just a corn and sugar bomb to me.
Not really worried about TV commercials and such for beer as plenty of the beers we all drink have NO TV MARKETING at all. Which is cool to see the amount of craft beer sales that are driven by websites such as this and many others; along with word of mouth that have cut into the big macro companies sales.

Shit, I loved the ad, thought it was pretty funny.

Then I went right back to my Bell's Special Double Cream Stout.

Yuengling…is…not…craft…beer. It is a macro adjunct. Like it, drink it by the case full if you like but please understand that it brown adjunct mass produced beverage. About fifteen years ago it started getting more popular. The only change was that it went from Busch prices to Bud prices. "That's a friggin fact" as they would say in the coal region of PA! Is PBR craft? What if they made brown PBR? think about it.

Couldn't Agree More. Simple and to the point. I don't think they had the same intentions as AB Imbev.

Kind of...though it's not as aggressive and mean-spirited as Budweiser's. I think they just wanted to throw out the fact that you don't have to camp out in the cold in lines for a 2 oz sample, and I can understand that. I like availability, too.

hmm no doesn't seem like they are slamming craft beer. Just stating that they have a good beer (their opinion) that is available without having to stand in lines. I guess would it be better to show a commercial where it is pimping a limited release beer and there are lines around the building to get it? Didn't think they called anyone out here

The video named "Standard" was a direct stab at the "craft beer" industry. :astonished:

Two of the commercials were a stab at yellow, fizzy, lite adjunct lagers. Although I don't think Yuengling Light is much better than any of them. I do enjoy their Traditional Lager, though.

Not sure what is worse... Macro people bashing craft or craft people bashing macro. Both are damn annoying. Just let people enjoy what they enjoy, who cares... It's nothing more than a beverage.

If this is considered "anti-craft" advertising, then I'd say craft beer is too sensitive.

Edit: There is a difference between making fun of the people who like craft beer (like Budweiser did) and differentiating your own beer as simpler and more straightforward than certain elements of other craft beers.
