Poor Etiquette?

I would have told that guy to go pound salt. It is a shelf beer that will be shipped more than once in it's available season. You did nothing wrong.

 

FBS is just starting to show up for the season and will be in stock for awhile, not a beer that is gone tomorrow ... i'd say you are fine.

 

You were wrong to leave the 3rd 4 pack. Can't have enough FBS...

 

Yeah, I agree with you guys! He's lucky he got 1 instead of none had you taken all 3 packs! I would've told him to put an egg in his shoe and effing beat it!

 

If the store wanted to ration it, they would've put a limit sign on it. How do you know that's all they have, perhaps they had 25 cases in the back and just would restock when those were sold. Plus not everyone is a beer Geek, imagine how many tourists in VT go into a grocery looking for a case of cold for the weekend and pick up some Heady not even knowing it's a sought after beer. I think unless someone is breaking some kind of limit rule a store has, it's best to STFU and move along.

Jokes aside, is this brew a rarity at your place of purchase? If so I would've bought a Four Pack. Yet, I can't stand Breakfast Stout so this thread can carry one from here on out.

 

It's not even a limited beer, you did nothing wrong. I think you showed good etiquette to not clean them out, I've always tried to never buy all of a stores stock of a particular beer, unless they only have 1-2 bottles than its fair game.

 

Shoulda told that single rippin' savage to mind his own business.. You were totally within the parameters of civilized beer buying. I applaud your restraint in dealing with him. If he gave a shit he shoulda reached into his skinny jeans for a few more bucks and bought the fourpack, or put back his Lagunitas... You didn't say but I'm guessing...

 

Can that goober guarantee that if you had only taken 1 four pack that the next customer after him wouldn't have taken the rest?

If it's all purchased, does it really matter who bought how much? When it's gone, it's gone.

 

Wow ... I picked up last years FBS about a month ago. I didn't think about bringing a mule.
Seriously, it's one of those beers I happily take for granted that it will almost always be on the shelf. I would have politely said the same thing to him.
