Released today at Arcadia in Kalamazoo (I'm told the Battle Creek location also)...had to enjoy one fresh on tap and pick up my cases. Not enough o's in smooth to describe a delightful balance of malt, vanilla, oak and bourbon. Nicely done!

What's the case price at Arcadia? And did you dress like a pirate?

They didn't have any of the 2015 version in bottles yet in BC. Last year the bottles were not released until December or later, so I suspect that's what is happening again. The BC location does have some 2014 bottles/cases left at $7.99 per bottle. If @jmosborn got 2015 bottles in Kzoo, that's news to me.

Battle creek had cases of it as of 7pm this evening. $7.99/bottle and no limit and has the nice red wax this year instead
of the dumb red foil thingy.

Had it on draft this evening for $6.50/6oz pour and damn was it boozy and smooth. Battle creek location
also offered a cask Hopmouth that was quite tasty.

love this beer but that price is always a deterrent.

Ok, semi reviving this thread because I'm drinking a 2015 Shipwreck. I'll be damned if this isn't the best batch I've ever tasted (I've had the last 4 vintage's). Lots of chocolate/fudge going on and the 12% is no where to be found, so smooth. Gave my wife a taster and she asked me if there was alcohol in it. If you have passed on this due to price don't hesitate anymore, they knocked it out of the park this year.

I am always amazed that this beer just sits on the floor by the case. These days 7.99 is a steal for something this good.

I've beer understood why an 8.00 12oz is too expensive when 15.00 is on the low end for a ba beer in a bomber.

I was just in BC last week, have they sold out of the 2015 bottles and only have 2014 available or did I simply not look hard enough? If so, that blows since I would've enjoyed trying them side by side.

only on tap right now, not yet bottled for the 15 batch, the 14's are the only bottles available right now.

Morningwood and Hipster were $100 per case at Oddside upon release.

BBPT5 was $130 per case at Dark Horse's 4 Elf party.

KBS was $19 per 4 pack at Founders.

The last Black Note release was $130 per case at the General Store.

I realize not everyone can get these beers at these prices but they were available. Sorry, I'm not paying $192 for a case of Shipwreck. It's good. But there are too many other excellent bourbon barrel aged beers out there for substantially less.

Then don't buy it. More for the rest of us that really like shipwreck. I love being able to buy it off the shelf 6 months after release. Try that with black note, hipster, or bbpt5.

Anyways, my point was that it is still priced the same per oz as a $15 bomber, and nobody bats an eyelash over buying a $15 bomber of ba beer.

Agree with this post, shipwreck has definitely been meh for me and still see last years on the shelf.

Speaking of Hipster, anyone go to Hopcat GR yesterday? Crazy tap list, had Hipster, KBS, BA Bigfoot and high-westified. Had 3 beers prior so was at my limit but there was soooo many more good beers on tap. Of the 4 I had Hipster was the best! Not sure if it was 2014 or 2015 but it was crazy good!

On tap in Kalamazoo. No doubt, a great batch. Opened one of last year's bottles last weekend. Age has been very good to it.

Very good this year, very smooth on tap, couldn't tell it was 12%, really the only Arcadia beer I get excited for.

so whats the deal with the 2014 version with rope and tag that the brewery was selling? just a special release of it or was it aged different??

I'm going to guess that it was 'found' in the cellar and put on the shelf for sale to get it out of the way. I think the 2014 price is still the same as what it has been since it was released last year. But, since it has the wax seal rather than the red foil like all of the other 2014 bottles, I suspect it was waxed at the same time as this year's batch.
