Last year I didn't drink much beer for a variety of reasons, and certainly didn't brew much. But a couple of months ago I found a keg of ESB with a May 2014 tag on it so I put it in the kegerator and now I'm drinking it. It's a very unusual beer, not hoppy, or malty even, but very dry. Any residual sugars got fermented out over the past year, but being kegged it also didn't get oxidized. I didn't really like the first few pints of it, but now it's my favorite beer on tap. Just wanted to share that.
How do you "find" a keg in your kegerator? I am apparently doing something wrong. I need a bigger kegerator so I can lose a keg or two. Nice problem to have. Good for you.
He found a keg and put in in the kegerator. This has happened to me as well. In the past I have had 5 or 6 kegs in the basement waiting to be tapped. Sometimes one keg keeps getting pushed to the back and the next thing you know, you have "lost" a keg in the basement. I posted a thread like this about a keg of porter that I "found" in the basement a year after I brewed it. @rocdoc what was the recipe?
I'll have to look and see.. I have 2 6 keg kegerators, one for serving and one for lagering and carbonating. I'm just now getting back into the mood to drink again so there's probably a few kegs in the carbonating fridge that may be interesting. 2014 really sucked, and I don't drink if I'm not happy.
