Kloster Andechs MN Distro?

    I know that some of the Kloster Andechs bottles started showing up in the US (as close as Chicago) over a year ago, and was hopeful they would eventually make their way to the local MN shelves.

    Has anyone seen these, or heard word on if/when we might start to see distro in MN? Having access to their offerings year-round (specifically the Doppelbock Dunkel) would be pretty awesome. I haven't been to Hudson lately, but would be happy enough if they were showing up over there at least.

    Hopefully everyone will tell me they've already arrived and I have simply completely missed them...

    In the summer of 2013 I sent an email inquiry to the importer of the Andechs labels, S&H Brands.

    A few months later they got back to me. A few months after that they identified Johnson Brothers as their local wholesaler (I'm unsure if that's a master distributor for the state.) I emailed Johnson Brothers last year, but never received a reply about the Andechs brands. Hopefully there's a beer buyer or three (as opposed to a lager-crazed geezer like me) who can keep the inquiry alive at the retail level.

    It's good enough that it is worth asking some questions to try to get it into the state. :slight_smile:

    Would love to get some of this. Enjoyed it very much while on vacation in Germany a couple of years ago.

    Working on it....things like this don't always move very fast at the Import and Distribution levels.

    I found it last weekend at Happy Harold's in Grand Forks. I bought every bottle in the cooler....six I think...I had one and it is without a doubt my favorite doppel of all time. Can't wait till it hits Minnesota.

    I promise I have tried to be patient, but I figured 6 weeks is enough time to check in on any potential status update. :slight_smile:

    Any word from the Import/Distro folks?

    Seen some kegs of the doppelbock dunkel in Omaha lately. No bottles though unfortunately but at least starting to be distro'd in more states perhaps.

    FWIT, I asked my JJ Taylor rep about Andechs a couple weeks back, and he hadn't heard a thing about JJ picking them up.

    Ok everyone, I have bad news. I just got word that the product we were going to get was deemed too old, so we aren't getting any this round. We'll have to continue to wait. They gave me no eta, but it'll probably be awhile if I was guessing.

    We just started getting bottled of doppelbock and vollbier hell. Great stuff, curious which other two you guys are seeing.
