Got in line at 10:30am or so. In by 11:20am. Ate lunch. Had 2 Beats. Out at 12:20pm. Didn't even have to put any more money in the parking meter. 'Twas a nice and quick trip.

The thing is, if you want to complain about the cluster fuck of slow moving lines.. You have no right to since the option for the last few years has been, it'll be able to get the next day. Last release, the next day WAS Sunday - and so those who work weekdays could easily get it in.

But to say they learned anything is foolish. They haven't and they won't. Next release will be the same. Slow moving first day. It was the scare tactics of some to post false info up here about it hitting the allocation limit already. But that just encourages this shit some more.

Maybe now that it's two years in a row, folks will spread it out and actually make it a bit more balanced between days.

No one can predict that it will last more than a day is the bottom line. Sure it has lasted the next day for the last release in 2013, but with half the cases to go, and half the allocation, +being 2015, +zwanze, anything is possible. If you cared about buying it, you would have been in line yesterday. If you didn't care that much, and took the wait and see approach, and you waited 15 mins this morning to buy it, and were able to get the day off of work, good for you.

Could things have improved yesterday? Yes. Once people get it in their minds that long lines are exactly what RR wants, you will understand why there is no reason for RR to improve the process. It's free press and marketing. Look at what happens every year at Younger.

Assuming that they confused the two in between the posts:
250 "allocations" left = 125 "cases" left = "more than a third of total production 500/3 = 166 (according to RR-math)...so if it's just the 250 allocations left, it of course is not "more than a third"...but somewhat close. Maybe they said that because 250>166 lol I have no idea.

99% sure they meant 250 cases left. I could easily see them kegging a third of their production to pour in the pub. A 1/2bbl is about 15 cases, and I wouldn't be surprised if they filled a dozen 1/2bbls to make sure they could pour it in the pub for a while (last release Im pretty sure they had it on for at least a month).

Everyone assumed that the probably 700-800 people who showed up yesterday would all get full allocations, but there were several couples around me in line who were only buying six bottles between the two of them, and thus only one allocation worth.

Can I get a real time update? Still bottles? Line outside? About to get off work in Petaluma trying to decide if I should head up or not.

The question is how many people were doing gopickitupformebros for thank you boxes of Spotted Cow and Alpha King?

i just feel sorry for the guy from new york that was paying the lady in front of me $28 an hour to stand in line for bottles yesterday. his allocation of 6 bottles ended up being like $400 after she ships them to him.

there was another dude paying two ladies in front of us $17 an hour to stand in line for another 12 bottles, not as bad but still pretty bad considering he had to pay those two ladies $270 just to wait and then the next day they have over 250 cases left lol

Years ago, I switched over to beer from wine because I thought it was the more economical option. With the astronomical prices these days along with the absurd lengths people go through to get highly coveted beers, I've decided to be primarily a shelf beer drinker with an occasional special release if I can purchase it through BPT. Shit is ridiculous now.

Left San Francisco at 7 pm Monday, had 6 Beats and 2 each of Sanctification, Temptation, Supplication, Consecration, Pig, and Pliny by 8:30 pm. When I left the pub at 10:15 pm after drinking 2 Beats on draft, there were still bottles available. I talked two different people next to me who had no idea what Beatification was into trying it on draft/buying bottles. Thought about asking them to #picksomeupformebro but didn't want to anger the beer gods.

    So they were Task Rabbits?

Edit: Also, why feel bad? He chose to pay people to wait, and yeah I was thinking it would be 3 hours tops, but I can't find a good reason to feel bad for some guy from across the country who hired some mules no matter how much it cost him.

I am coming from Iowa on October 19, I know bottles will be long gone, but what are the chances of me still seeing it on tap?

that's a tough call, I'm not sure anyone can really answer that question at this point.

Oddly, I'll be in Iowa on October 19.

    Making a TG run?
Does RR let you bring in outside bottles? Thought of bringing a couple local bottles to share but hate paying the "fees"

Wouldn't count on it, but they may still have some FFAC at that point. I know they try to spread it out, but it may only be a week or two. Can't remember how draft has gone in years past.
