I really enjoy Scotch Ales in the fall. Old Chub and Dirty Bastard (eventually Backwoods Bastard) see plenty of action round here...

I have been drinking a lot of Jack's Abby Copper Legend recently. It's a lighter marzen that's very clean. I would imagine that as the weather cools down, I will gravitate towards something heartier like Ayinger. I love the style, but there are a lot of marzens that have a cloying sweetness which is off putting.

I am a BIG "pumpkin-head", so far too many of those to list again here.....

But am digging the Octo-fest scene and esp. the SN / German collab, bought a case so far and love it! The usual German marzens are always great as well!

Am also liking Bell's Brown, the Saranac Disruption Nitro Brown, etc

Have not gotten into too many wet hopped / harvest ales yet, but looking forward to those and esp. SP Sensei...yum!

Weihenstephaner Festbier is a great one.
For American märzens, I like Highland Clawhammer and SN Oktoberfest.

I've been pretty in love with Von Trapp's Oktoberfest lately and I've been stoked to drink Old Chub again which is one of my favorite beers but I can't seem to stomach it when its hot and humid.

Ayinger Oktoberfest, Paulaner Oktoberfest, Schlenkerla Marzen, Backwoods Bastard.

For IPAs I tend to gravitate towards reds/ryes in the fall. The Stoneface India Rye Red Ale is one of my current favorites

I agree with all who say this year's SN Ocktoberfest is great. Typically, a semi local favorite for the fall is Legend Brown Ale. On the "imperial" side of those, I really enjoyed The Kaiser from Avery (the imperial marzen) as well as Prarie's Okie (imperial brown ale aged on oak).

Pumpkin- three best this year are wolavers, Ithaca's country pumpkin and smuttynose - I have not had any imperials yet save for ST's.

Oktoberfests three best this year are spaten, sierra nevada and ellicottville
Browns- so far the two best this year are ithaca's nut brown, sierra nevada's tumbler ( I have not had any others I admit)
IPA -The gourd standard by flying dog a impudent pumpkin IPA
