Success! Left to right: Tired Hands - Plumage (never had but heard good things about them!) Tired Hands - Opal Skeletons listening to your footsteps. Same as above. Big Gruesome - I've had before but a very good beer. Forest and Main - Dochter Seizoen. Never had but sounds awesome. Russian River - Supplication. Super duper want. Westy 12 - Holy Shit! Honestly never ever thought I'd drink this. Troegs - Hop Knife. Just got one in a trade but now I can share with buddies this weekend. Surly - Todd the Axe Man. Super want. Never had any Surly. Westbrook - Gose. Great beer and will be nice for the rest of the summer. Fat Heads - Head Hunter. We get their distro but never tried this. Looking forward to it. All in all, great box! Thanks for everything! !
Sorry to steal your thunder listing them all I actually knew you had had Big Gruesome before, but your Untappd comment was along the lines of your palette was shot and it was a small pour, so it seemed apropos to give you another shot at it
These were filled at the original location, which historically has had more problems with low carb than overcarb (ie exploding growlers), so I wasn't too worried about that. With that said @Yourahoser don't sit on those too long, they already are a week old. As an aside, if you feel so inclined, you (and everyone else respectively) are welcome to post a "WBAYDN" style post (though videos are not as welcome in this part of the site) of any beers (such as those growlers) you got from the BIF. And I encourage you to use #properglassware on those growlers Yeah Big Gruesome is a cool beer, and one I definitely like, but it can be a bit polarizing depending on how you feel about peanut butter in your beer. An IPA is an IPA as far as style preferences, but just because someone likes stouts doesn't mean they'd like this, so I had to be sure he hadn't had it and hated it.
No worries. It was good but I had killed a bomber of Billy Full Stack DIPA in celebration of the USA SOCCER victory in women's world cup.
I have yet to taste a peanut butter beer that I'd really like.. Sweet Baby Jesus was probably the best one.
Ever have Bon Bon? That is my fave from Singlecut, although the Billy Half and Full are great. Let me know if you ever want their bottles. The beer store near my work gets them very close to being bottled, like a week later.
Dragon Trax was pretty damn good. Big Gruesome is pretty good. I also have a BA Big Gruesome that needs to be cracked open.
Porch destruction complete!! Look what I just came home to- thanks @Yourahoser !! I'm going to crack a beer and crack into this box- pr0n soon!!
Troegs - Hop Knife! Piney and dank with a touch of citrus. Had to use new glass, even though its not technically "proper".
Wow- fantastic box! Sooooo much beer!! The only one here that I've tried is Jai Alai, and I've only had that once! Everything looks fantastic- well either fantastic or really, really interesting (I'm looking at you Sweet Potato Casserole Strong Ale). I can't wait to dig into this pile - I'm McGreezy on Untappd if anyone wants to see what I think of all of these. Thanks so much @Yourahoser !! Here's the list since my phone camera sucks: Cycle Brewing Cream & Sugar Please (Coffee Porter) Cigar City Marshal Zhukov’s (Imperial Stout) Cigar City Jai Alai IPA Cigar City Jai Alai aged on White Oak IPA Cigar City Tocobaga Red Ale Destihl Counter Clockweisse (Berliner Weissbier) Tampa Bay Reef Donkey (APA) Coppertail Night Swim Porter Coppertail Unholy Trippel Coppertail Free Dive IPA Ninkasi Tricerahops (Double IPA) Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler Ale (Wheat ale with blueberries, cinnamon, and vanilla) Funky Buddha Sweet Potato Casserole (Strong Ale with sweet potatoes, vanilla, and spices) Funky Buddha Last Snow (Porter with coconut and coffee) Cycle Brewing Crank (American IPA)
Enjoy man. I would have loved to tick some of your wants but a lot of those are well outside my wheel house. So I just gave the best of Florida. I tried to stick with hops, sours, or coffee forward beers.
