I've got a shipment coming soon with several different IPA's. I'll report my findings

I joined but as of yet have not placed an order due to the fact that about half the stuff they advertise I can already get local, and some others I can get from a friend in Cali. The markup in cost for what they send me e-mails for is rather significant IMO so I would imagine it would hold true for the rest. And the rest has not been inspiring enough to make me want to purchase.

I'm not pulling your chain. Talking multiples. I missed out on Abraxas by minutes (sold out). Don't make me search through the emails.

If anyone wants a sign up discount code, feel free to PM me. I stand by being pleased with what they offer.

I've been receiving the daily emails for 3-4 months and haven't seen anything remotely as good as the Fremont stuff in your order.

Just wait for the winter my friend. Like you, I haven't been impressed with recent offerings. Seasonal beer is a beautiful thing.

Correct, they sold those beers. But in reality, this post came about when OP thought he was getting old IPAs. I can confirm they have sent my friend and I old IPAs. I dont care how well they took care of the bottles once in their possession, bottles beers shouldnt be dated 2-3 months before the day you receive your package. Not for me at least. As for the Fremont stuff, they absolutely sent these emails out (and sold said beers) but once again, my friend who got an email and was told his purchase for Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb was being processed and shortly thereafter received another email saying they apologize but they sold more than they had and had to refund the money. Just once incident, but I dont hold my breath for their emails.

Here is my take on Tavour after visiting my sister in Seattle. They get beers off shelves that don't sell (Iron Fist Dark Days Rum BA, BA Epitaph, Trinity beers, shit even B-BOMB) and sell them at a higher price to those out of distro (and sometimes in distro).. They aren't selling anything you couldn't buy at any of the various liquor stores in the Seattle area (and I'm sure it goes beyond that).. I just hesitate to give this site credit due to my experience, but I do know with certainty you CAN grab some tasty things from time to time. Just use precaution, and be sure to ask THEM questions about the beer in question.

I agree it's probably not the best option for WC'ers. For Midwesterners and EC'ers, it's awesome to get a big box of west coast beers we can't get here for a flat shipping fee. I'll happily pay the small markup. I do research on all the prices they offer and the beers, and make an educated decision on whether or not it's "worth it". It's certainly a lot cheaper than trading for some of these beers or taking a trip out west.

I have personally yet to get an IPA older than 4 weeks, and they have all tasted fresh. Admittedly, I have been avoiding them and only have gotten 3 different IPA's in the 2 shipments I've received.

My favorite part so far is getting the beers I used to regarly buy when living in Portland.

Because we never found out what was in the box...bonus points if you remember that thread.

It's times like this I desperately would like to post a meme.

In all seriousness, with all the hate Tavour is getting in this thread, I have found them to be one of the better online choices for beer. A lot better than the beer of the month clubs I hear people ask about from time to time.

If the meme is related to Se7en, it is hilarious.

Reading the posts here, my 2 cents are that is is pretty shady that you have to sign up just to see what they have. That being said, I'd certainly lurk around for chances at some B-bombs and C-bombs.

This thread peaked my curiosity, because I make on-line beer purchases several times a year, but they don't ship to SC...dammit

As someone who started the hate parade on this thread, I dont get the "you have to sign up to see what they have" hate. Its literally no commitment. They email you, thats it. Your downside is pressing delete.

    WHAT'S IN THE BOOOOX?!

It's probably people not realizing that no credit card or purchase commitment is necessary. I didn't even put my credit card info in the site until I was ready to say "YES" to the first email.

All I want to do is see what beers they have to offer. I don't want my email and/or physical address sold to other parties.

From their own Privacy Policy on HOW WE MAY USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT "to provide information about our business and offer our Products or Services to you and products and services of others that we think you may find of interest"

Incoming emails of things I don't care about, but Tavour sure thinks I do.

Fair enough! Precisely why I have a "spam" email and another email I use only for family/personal/work.

But if you use your spam email to sign up, then you have to check your spam email for their beer... kinda defeats the purpose of spam email.
