So a few thoughts. First and foremost, I met up with a buddy of a few locals here in Denver today for an IP trade. Not only did @jaqo4 Put together a great box, but @NickyPogs And @lefty17 Decided pile on by IP ninjaing a fucking CASE of beer.

You guys are on notice, vengeance is mine sayeth the dude who's bad at shotgunning. We will enjoy some of this tonight if our livers are willing, and pr0nz will come this weekend. Be warned, it's pretty hardcore.

Also, as many of you know, I was heartbroken at losing the recent LIF and missing my chance at some blind pig from the Beat release. Falling Rock had my back. #VPlasticCupShare

You're past the cutoff, but I'll toss you in anyway...

Bad news for the low numbers on the board: Haven't been to a session, external festival, or bottle share yet, and I'm at 40

For a second I read that and thought you meant Beat was at Falling Rock and I was going to run over there before heading to the bottle share. Don't scare a guy! Went to two different, new-to-me breweries today, both of which are fairly new to Denver. Each had a 10-beer lineup for taster trays... And that was after Lucky Pie and World of Beer. The marathon has begun!

#VBS number 3 for the night, probably the last. @jdhowe sent me a box about a year ago with some cali goodies before he moved back to the east coast, and in it was 4 RR sours (the 4 "main" ones as far as I know). The other 3 were shared over time, mostly just me and 1 other person. Figured I should have one to myself only. Was originally going to keep it for some kind of occasion since who knows when I'll have another RR sour in my hands, but I figured I have plenty of other beers in the cellar that I can earmark for something like that if need be. This is delicious. I drank them over the last 9 months or so so not really able to compare them and say which was my favorite other than all of them were fantastic.

If I were to ask how many of the top 250 I've had, what would you think the answer is?

    111 of course!

Let's make that 112 of the top 250 now! Thanks to Ericka @Littlelotte88 for this beauty. And, my new glass from my other favorite thread (thanks @PA-Michigander!)

So I might have my first taste of Utopias in February... we're croudsourcing a bottle of the 10th anniversary to split 12 ways at the 3rd iteration of the convention share I hosted this past year (that I'm cohosting this year with the founder in a separate suite we reserved for 1 night just for the share)

I have to VBS this -- I got bottles of this from @JasonR1975 when he was still known as @I_BYE_MI_BEER (as an add-on to the summer sixer), and from @UcDru via a LICC me (anybody remember those?) last June and September, respectively. I apparently forwarded one of them to somebody because it was a want and I had two. Well, I finally got around to drinking the one I kept -- and I absolutely LOVED this. I'm not normally a big Prairie fan (yes, including Bomb!, which is readily available near me) but this one was amazing. Unfortunately, I think it's been discontinued -- and yes, I ALMOST regret sending my other one on, but I guess if I didn't do that I wouldn't belong in this group...

Eff me. Devin did this SixterCAN box right. Not sure how many of these extras have been circulating through multiple rounds, but I'm going to have a hard time passing on a couple of them.

    The CANS:
Burly Oak - Sorry Chicky. New brewery tick, and a style I'm going to have to share with the gf (least I could do after making her haul this box in off the porch).
DC Brau - The Corruption. New IPA for me.
DC Brau - The Public. New APA for me.
Sly Fox - Grisette. I've had one of their IPAs, but this is my first canned Saison from anywhere.
Jailbreak - Big Pun. 100% new beer and brewery.
Union - Duckpin, Double Duckpin, Balt. DDP is the only can in the box I've had before, and LOVED it. Glad to have some more, plus another couple offerings from the same brewery.

The "Bonus" - Beer Pairing Challenge: Prepare a local food specialty item and pair it with a local beer. Post a video reviewing the pairing. CAN do! Stay tuned... Might take a week or two, but i know the Bonus Beer will be worth the wait. A+ wrapping job, btw.

As for the "Extras" - Absolutely blown away. Gonna have to think long and hard as to which ones go back in the box and which ones i greedily keep for myself. Wants, should be Wants, and world class brews. Tall order to replace what I keep, but I think I'm up for it.

@Devman171 thanks so much for a killer box! Better keep the guard dogs alert, as this may not go without reprisal.

And I'm confident we can get another trip or two out of this box before it circles back around to the originator. Sign ups to follow challenge - keep an eye out!

    Awesome box Devin!

As far as I know the extras (and cans for that matter) are generally replaced entirely each round. The rules certainly don't stipulate that any must be left behind (in this one, at least; the version in SWTFYW does include that rule)

There is also nothing saying you can't leave something behind if it's not up your alley and/or you think your recipient will appreciate it more than you, I just haven't noticed anything that seemed like it had made a few stops already.

The only really important thing about the extras is that you replace what you take, and preferably with the same or higher quality beer.

Also while I'm talking about the rules, technically you're not supposed to tell us what the challenge is until you're posting that it's been completed, ditto for unwrapping the challenge bottle though it seems you do have that one covered. Not a huge deal, just for future reference.

Second segue, these challenges do NOT have to have anything to do with food. It's cool that they all have, and nothing wrong with every single one being food-related, just putting it out there that the challenge can be anything.
