8 in the morning and the new thread hasn't been started yet? You guys are slipping. Anywho, came to this morning with a pounding noggin' jobber due to multile self-inflicted Bulleits to the head last night. Sitting on the can enjoying this beanfest at the moment. Gonna be a long drunken day in honor of my grandparents not killing each other after 65 years. This and the 40 other beers I drink today are in their honor. Have a great day kids. Cheers.

    Morning BAs

Well I tried sleeping in today but given that the latter part of my saturday will be spent wrestling with Ikea furniture I thought a morning treat would be in order. My kitten Rocky agrees too. An outstanding beer! Hope everyone has a great saturday.

Garage Project's "VPA - Venusian Pale Ale" a DIPA with over the top citrus clash of grapefruit, lemon and lime flavors. Reminds me of an alcohol laced pineapple punch. Solvent like finish. A whole lot of weird going on here...cool art work though...

    Morning BA

Been a while since I last had this, but grabbed a single this week. Just as awesome as I remember. Big grapefruit, citrus rind, and pine hops; with caramel, toasted biscuit and light toffee/chocolate/nutty malts; with a bit of raisiny dark fruits in the back. Big sticky/resinous bitter finish. I might have to pick up one of the stone mix 12 packs some time. A very unique but delicious beer as usual.

My go to fall seasonal brown. Robust and complex flavors of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, nutty, and light cocoa/chocolate malts; balanced by herbal/spicy/light citrusy hop character and bitterness. A spot on American brown ale. So delicious.

One of my go-to pumpkin ales this year thanks to new recent distribution. Big robust flavors of pumpkin, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, caramel, and herbal spice earthiness; with some raisiny dark fruit notes in the back. Balanced herbal spicy bitterness against the malt sweetness. Definitely my favorite as far as darker malty Pumpkin ales go. Lots of complexity going on.

Cellar grab for the day. I was amazed by this a few years ago; so I grabbed another bottle randomly, and it has been in my cellar ever since. 2011 vintage, but actually bottled in 2012. This is still just as incredible as it was last time, but more integrated on flavors. Huge raisin, plum, fig, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted oak, vanilla, coconut, spicy rye, bourbon, and light tobacco/leather. Light-moderate whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish balances out the deep malt sweetness perfectly. Wow, this was absolutely incredible as expected! Tons of malt complexity and balanced barrel character, and very smooth for the ABV with no booziness and minimal warming after the finish for 11%. I love barleywines.

Like @Barnoloid - I tried sleeping in, but it wasn't happening. So I decided to go for a walk - something I haven't done in a while and need to do more often. After, I'm sitting down with this child, born only 11 days ago and already with manual dexterity to hold a spoon:

If I lived elsewhere, he'd be more advanced, enough to write complete sentence notes, I hear.

Looks wonderful, smells great. Still a little cold, but chocolate and dark roast coffee, little chalky with a little alcohol tingle. Happy Saturday, BA!

Good morning BAs! Finished picking up the apples yesterday and could finally mow the back 40. Now all I have to do is continue to maintain by getting out before the yellowjackets are fully operational - only picked up 86 apples today as opposed to > 800 yesterday. Continuing to celebrate a job well done:

This is for all you early 90's Mac gamers out there. A few tracks from Bungie's Marathon - arguably the most influential FPS ever conceived. Sadly, these are the re-created Aleph-One versions.
