Más de 50 cervezas artesanales... but it doesn't say what those cervezas are.

Interesting that the logo at Facebook says Juarez and El Paso... sounds like a law enforcement nightmare!

And the Mexican Facebook page says 15 cervezas artesanales... de la region. Hmm...

@rocdoc1 -- care to recon the Fest for us? :grinning:

Benito Juárez in lederhosen is amusing though - considering he allowed the execution Maximilian von Habsburg, whose
maternal grandfather was King Maximilian I of Bavaria.

Do any of you Oktoberfest vets know which sections in the Hofbrau tent and the Hacker tent are NON-Reservation tables? I'm looking to get in early next Mon-Tue and be able to hold my spot throughout the day and not get the boot at 5pm when evening reservations roll in. Thanks!

The majority of the main floor, center in all tents are usually open (non-reserved). You'll be able to recognize the reserved areas -- they have fancy table cloths!

In the tent plans you link -- the areas marked as "boxes" are usually reserved areas. If you get in early and sit at a non-reserved table I'm pretty sure it won't be reserved out from under you.

I went Thursday around noon and easily found a seat. On Friday around 1:30, everywhere was full. The size and scope is impressive, a great party.

Attending Oktoberfest is like making love to a beautiful woman with bad hygiene. You think you're enjoying yourself, but really, you are not.

I apologize for being a bit lax here lately ... Have been back from Europe 2 weeks now.... but have been working weekdays and last weekend I had a WWII re-enacting event.... Just getting my pix sorted and edited, though I have uploaded all my new Bier reviews.... Hope to have some sort of trip recap posted soon.... Prosit!!

The viewing setting I put was "public" and not "friends", so I guess you have to be logged into FB to see it...

Ah, no worries, whatever is easiest! Thanks either way.

A bit off topic, but did you go to the Smuttynose Oktoberfest? I'm curious how their new beer garden is.

    Prosit!

I didn't go to their Ofest, but I have been to the Biergarten, and it's a lovely area; quite relaxing.... too bad it only opened so late in the year....

    It is. :grinning:
There's another setting (somehow) where non-Facebook members can see your page, but just not "participate."
