Ah, no. They will have pint glasses for sure, and my non craft drinking buddies would have a ball if I came with a tulip. Why poke the bear?

Mostly yes I have. I don't really care what they think or might say, I've already heard all some could say about it. The least I have done is bring clear plastic cups. I'm never drinking craft on a red cup or similar.

That being said, I never bring tulips or snifters, just an english pint.

Having novas guys over tonight for a tasting, going with the tulip glasses. Bringing them up to speed. Do not think I would travel with one unless gifting it.

Situational. Some gatherings where I bring beer for sharing I will bring glassware. Might not be tulips, but at least decent pints or tasters if I have enough. At my house, generally serve beer in glassware unless there's more lips than glasses...that case, you are on your own and we always have red Solo cups...

General get together....nope. We had a family pot luck a couple weeks ago and I was forced to drink from the bottle...the agony (sarcasm alert).... It was Sam Adams Rebel Rouser, and it tasted pretty fine right out the bottle...

Never. It's tacky, and a bit snobby, but mostly silly.

"Um .... Tanks for inviting me, Bob. But please put away your shaker pint. I've got my own tulip glass in my beer geek fanny pack, along with other supplies I'll need for the night. Now let me show you how to properly enjoy a beer."

I reserve a spot in my six-pack holder for a tulip, silly or not.

    No.

While a tulip or some other specialized glass does optimize the sensory experience of drinking a beer, a shaker pint does just fine. As much as I love beer, sometimes the camaraderie and social element is more important than extracting that uber-specific aroma or taste point out of your beer.

If I can deal with drinking craft beer out of a hotel water glass, I can certainly handle drinking it out of a pint glass amongst friends.

If I am at a block party or some outdoor neighborhood function where people bring their own stuff I will bring my own glass instead of drinking out of a bottle or a plastic cup. If I am at someone's house, I will just ask them for a glass and go with anything they have available. Generally folks will have a wine glass or something resembling a shaker glass that will perform well over the course of an evening.

I have but not a tulip. I just bring a shaker pint just in case they don't have any glasses. If most people are drinking bmc type beers most people drink them from the bottle. Or I just bring a beer I like to drink straight from a can.

I would feel pretty stupid bringing my own glass. I have even been known to enjoy a beer out of a red solo cup.

Not with non craft beer drinkers and non craft beers. Do you really need to get the full nose of Bud Light?

My in laws only drink Mich Golden lite, which i won't drink. They already think my beer tastes are snobby and somewhat silly. I hadn't thought of bringing my own glass to their events, but I think I will now to further develop my image. I think the more obscure and absurd glass the better.

If it's people I'm fairly close to, like family or in-laws, I bring my own. Otherwise, I just bring stuff I'm happy to drink out of the bottle.
