Saw this posted on the Lost Abbey/Port Brewing Instagram.

60 cases, $41 per bottle (750 ml), 3 bottle limit, pick up only on Oct. 31 & 31st. Here's the description:

My Black Parade, a blended bourbon barrel-aged Strong Ale with Cocoa Nibs, Vanilla and spices.
Only 60 cases will be made available, with all of it being sold through Lost Abbey's online store, starting this Friday at Noon (PST). Bottles will be $41 (service charge included) and will be limited to 3 bottles per person (750 ml). Pickup will be spread out over two days, on October 30th and 31st during normal business hours at The Lost Abbey Tasting Room in San Marcos.
My Black Parade begins with a deep bouquet of rich chocolate and layered hints of cinnamon and oak. Huge flavors of cocoa with notes of vanilla, bourbon, and tobacco finishing with a crisp bite from the smoked chili's and cardamom.

Thoughts? Seems pretty expensive, but sounds delicious.

I've learned my lesson too many times over the last 8+ years spending my money on bottles from this brewing company. $5 is a gamble with their quality control. But... Go ahead. The rare is a callin'

But but but, it has spices in it!

Why are these 750s so expensive? Angel share is less than half the cost at half the size. After some expensive misses (santo Diego, agave Maria) it's hard to blindly purchase

Although when they are on its great stuff!

I honestly dont understand how any of their beer is so expensive. Angels Share, Deliverance, Older Viscosity, BA Santa's little Helper, Track 8, Track 10, they are all good beers but Im just not going to pay $17 for a 12 oz bottle when most of it shows up on tap at local places for $8-10 for a 12oz pour.

Can someone point me in the direction of a Lost Abbey beer that is outstanding the few I have had from them were just ok to good. Except for I know the mythical Cable Car which I will never get to try.

It seems like breweries are pushing the limits on prices of rare beers. I would love to try this but $41 a bottle is pricey.

Wow! $41. Must be a new record for them right?
    60 cases = 720 bottles?
So I'm assuming that if you are rich enough to buy 1, you can buy 3, which limits it to 240 unique buyers?

Aside from the obvious (DDG, certain Veritas, etc)...

But yeah, overall they are a pricey brand all things considered. (Love me some Older Viscosity though)

Your best bet is to find something on tap. A local spot I go to did a tap takeover and had Track 8, Deliverance, Angel's Share Grand Cru, Red Poppy, Framboise de Amorosa, etc. on tap and they were all world class.

Because they know it will sell out in an instant anyway. I would never buy this beer at such ridiculous price but there are too many people out there that will flock over there throwing money all over the place to get a bottle. Not saying they are fools, it's their money and good for them, but I think they might be doing just what the brewery wants.

Rare bottles make some people go absolutely apeshit. And I think it's not really about how good the beer might be, but more about the "I MUST HAVE IT" mentality about limited releases from hyped up breweries.

Sadly I see this trend growing up in the near future.

In my universe, there are no 750ml bottles (regardless of the brewer) worth $41.00 a bottle.

See I have had Angel's Share, Deliverance, Track 8, and Red Poppy and thought they were good but not great but for the price?!?

Bombers suck. This should be a $78 four-pack instead.

Well if the beer was cheaper would you think the beer was suddenly better?

This beer will beat the pants off anything you could find in Mexico and I haven't even had it yet.

$41 is steep. At that price point, I’d easily throw the $$$ down for DDG, Cable Car, and most Veritas, but for this??? I love Lost Abbey, it’s been one of my favorite breweries over the years - however this beer honestly sounds very similar to Track 10. Only real difference is they swapped the stout with a strong ale and added some heat.
