Significant BeerAdvocate Milestone?

I think of all the things that this site tracks, I think reviewing a beer from all 50 states would be one that would make me smile the most, I think.

 

I would say getting Poobah status.

400 beers here....I think the road to 500 will be a long one since my tastes do not include sours, saisons, belgians, wild ales, lambics, etc. I'm an IPA, IIPA, APA & stout guy.

hitting 1000 Hads/ratings and 250 posts. working on 1250

 

i'm considered an "advocate" now which is kinda nice. looking forward to reaching 500 beers just so i can keep going on to 1000 beers.

I have to admit that I was happy to obtain "Poopah" status.
That and $12 will get you a good 4 pack.

 

May I present "Miss Poobah!" If I were to really honestly say what made me feel like a real BA, it was when you all started showing up at my house.

 

Probably beginning to actually post after lurking for about 6 years

 

It was when I signed up to volunteer for last year's Extreme Beer Fest, drove to Boston from Tennessee, and met some incredible people who let me stay at their house after just being introduced to me and are now life-long friends.

It's been fun.

 

I think that THIS is what I am not only aiming towards, but would also consider a very notable achievement. But I know that as soon as I do, some obscure only available in like, Lichtenstein, style #105 will surface........ yep, glass IS half empty folks....

I was hoping that the Fez would make a return.

In all reality, my journey towards posting photos was educational enough for me to truly say that knowledge gained on BA DOES actually transcend!

I swear, it's uncanny how appropriate not only this thread should come up at this time, but many other threads in the past as well speak to me and happen to get posted right when I've been thinking of the topic or just experienced the topic.

Anyway, on October 7, 2011, exactly four years ago today, I logged my first review on BA. The beer was Bell's 25th Anniversary Ale. Since then, I now stand at 1461 reviews. As many of you know, Bell's 30th Anniversary Ale just came out and I have a bottle that I'm saving to celebrate my 1500th review. Full circle. Yes, it would've been a perfect full circle if I had landed on my 1500th review on this very day. And I could theoretically accomplish this if I go to this place which is very close to my house: pourtaproom.com But even if 38 of their 44 taps all occupied a beer that I've never had before and I only drank two ounces from each tap to write a review on each, I'd still have drank too much beer and not be sober enough to review the Bell's in good conscience. Plus, that'd be cheating anyway.

 

Finally passing my written section of the Cicerone test (second time's a charm?). Results to follow in about 4 weeks.

 

Good luck! Most people flub the tasting portion so at least you got that part down (I presume)!
