Significant BeerAdvocate Milestone?

When I finally stopped being a leach and decided to sign up and contribute.

 

Reducing visits to every few days instead of every few minutes was a pretty big milestone.

 

10 years. Crazy to think that I've been at least somewhat serious about drinking better beer for that long.
...and that's after lurking for about 18 months.

Finally getting a post deleted because it was off topic. I mean, I'm usually off topic. But this time it was bad enough that it was deleted. Just a really special time for me.

 

In my short time here, Newbie BIF.

I've been contributing and meeting people prior, but this took the site to another level...community and friends for me. Will definitely participate more in those!

The champion status, closing in on 500 reviews and 100 styles. What's important about those though, is the knowledge and beer variety experience I've acquired.

 

Nothing on this site matters in real life so milestone is a bit of a streach. However it has been a great resource to help guide my craft journey. If only they would bring back trade comments.

As far as what I would consider a significant milestone, I haven't reached it yet. I want to try every listed style, because I really enjoy so many different types of beer. Only up to 84 so far. Nothing will replace the relationships I have made and the conversations I have had while sharing beers with my WBAYDN crew.

Wait, is not getting banned for almost 2 years a milestone?

 

I started off doing place reviews. My biggest milestone was my first beer review, because I've never been super analytical about beer and tried to put it into words and ratings. Previously only used Untappd to rate. Eventually, a long time from now, I'll hit 100 ratings.

 

The OP did say "Beer advocate " milestone, not important life milestone.

I did enjoy hitting Champion and I would also like to hit the level of Poobah before my liver gives out.

 

I did, I passed it first try, without an off-flavor tasting kit. I thought for sure that would be that part I would fail, but no. I barely missed the written, so I took it again, two weeks ago.

 

The day I was able to retire and live comfortably off my earnings from BA posts.

 

Wait...what? We're not getting paid for this? Can't imagine how there could be a significant milestone associated with participating in a web forum...regardless of how enjoyable it is to surf.

I'm going to split hairs, but ultimately answer your question. AS a beer advocate, my milestone is realizing my dream job is working with craft beer. Regarding this site, it would be logging 1,000 beers.
