ITT: people realize they don't care much for Simcoe hops.

I love Simcoe. This beer is very solid. This beer is nowhere near as good as 2012 for me, which was also Simcoe.

Exactly. While I thoroughly enjoy all the fruit forward ipa's that taste like straight up mango's and pineapple, this is a pleasant change.

FWIW, it is what I remember the 2012 version tasting like - at least as close as I can remember something from 3 years ago.

Listening to people whine about how Simcoe hops taste reminds me of conversations on here where people complain that "XYZ Stout" would be better barrel aged.

If the brewer wanted to make a BA Stout they would. If they wanted to make a Centennial or Citra Wet, they would.

You learned a lesson today fellow advocates, Simcoe might not be for you. I think Steel Reserve tastes like shit, so I don't drink it.

I actually love simcoe... I love a simcoe/amarillo combination better. Shoot top that off with a touch of citra and now you're talking!

I'm going to give another can a try tonight. But when it comes to simcoe, I'd prefer more cat piss over skunk. And the first can was more skunk with pilsner undertones. Not the simcoe I was looking for.

But, assholes are like opinions, everyone has one.

I've never tried any of the other Wets, but I like it. Simcoe is not my favorite hop--my tastes tend towards the fruitier, juicier varieties--but it's a very well-done beer.

I'm getting a lot of white grape in the nose and in the taste--anyone else?

While I'm not sure what "skunky cat piss" smells or tastes like (and I've had a couple of cats in my life for extended periods of time), I'm confident in stating that I don't get those "flavors" or "aromas" in this version of Wet.

I purchased a case today (24 pint cans). I would've purchased two cases if allowed. After tasting Wet this evening, I'm glad I made the purchase. I think it's most excellent.

After having another can tonight, this really reminds me of an IPL rather than an IPA. Reminds me quite a bit of Schell's Fresh Hop Pils from two years ago actually. That's not a bad thing, but not what I want in this beer.

My feeling is that wet IPA's may not be a favorite of mine anymore. And the fact surly wet took a year off and with the amount of amazing IPA's out these days it's easier for me to have my palate searching for others. It's a great beer, but since the release of Todd I find myself looking for Todd characteristics. To each his own. Glad I only bought a 4 pack.

Bought some on France44.com, I'm in VA, it's Surly, that's all I need to know.

I'm not the biggest Simcoe fan, love a resinous IPA, see Sixpoints Resin for reference.

Should be here on Saturday, I'll be in CA for the weekend, now the biggest question is, will my wife, unpack and place in my beer fridge when they get here?

Great minds, man. I was definitely getting lager yeast flavors and knew it reminded me of a beer I've had before. That's it, right there.

This is a very good beer. It's not as good as 2012. It's not worth what they charge, but it's worth getting your hands on and trying.

I would like to amend my previous post, and apologize to everyone I shamed. I had a can last night. It doesn't taste good. It tastes like an adjunct lager with some hop oil in it. (that's probably pretty harsh, but I wasn't impressed, and certainly not at $15 a 4-pack)

Had a can last night and there was absolutely zero hop presence in the nose. Like others have mentioned, tasted like a lager with an extra dose of hops. No way in hell does this come off as a wet hopped beer.

I'm glad Wet sucks this year! Since no one else likes it, I'll have no problem finding plenty of it.
