I don't understand why variants are so non-existent. They make the beer so much better, so much more family friendly.

I like the whole "plus a free gift" vagueness as well as unknown "extra goodies" with purchase. Reminds me of one of those bad info-mercials. "BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! If you order now we'll also throw in an amazing extra!"

Lets just give them props on the bottle and be done with this.

Finally stopped there today, cool spot for sure and the market itself was better than I expected. Did 2 flights of their beers and one included the regular RIS, not gonna lie it was pretty solid but felt the same way a variant would have made the base beer so much better. I may snag a bottle of this for shits and giggles but don't see myself committing to 3 without ever trying it.

I stopped by today too. I agree that the RIS on tap was very good, which has me excited about this release.

Imagine if this beer had been aged for a full year and had some adjuncts. They could ask $35+ per bottle.

$27 a bottle for their first release. Yikes. Hope it's great for those who purchase it!

Seems awfully pricey for a new brewery, imo.

I reached out to some of my friends who are local to winter garden, and all had the same sentiment.."We are not paying 30.00 per bottle without trying it yet." I have no idea how many bottles were produced, but i have a feelign many have the same sentiment. People are going to do the wait and see game regarding this beer.

Yeah. It's a bit pricey but after a few glasses it is really growing on me. I think I have gotten so used to chocolate or coffee versions of barrel aged stouts that at first I may have been a bit underwhelmed but it really is a solid bourbon barrel aged stout.

is it worth the price tag? i understand it is 750 mL format, but with bourbon county on the horizon, cycle pumping out ba beers all the time, and other great BA stouts like bb pt5 coming out before the year ends, I may just look for this on tap.

The value question is difficult for me. I recently made the 3 hour drive to Funky Buddha to wait in line 3 hours to pay $25 a bottle for 3 22oz bottles. To be honest the time and money is a hard rationization but I don't get into that because I like the beer and experience. I will say that I would rather pay this for a true local Florida beer then struggle to pay $10 bucks a pop for bcbs 12 oz bottles.

It's a good beer, buy it if you want it.

The value question isn't difficult for this Crooked Can release. They just told their customers/fans/loyal supporters that if you want a beer that has been aged for 4 months with no adjuncts, it will cost you $27. That is a terribly dangerous floor value they've set for themselves going forward. Does anyone honestly think that the next BA Stout they release will be $16-20?

The FB example I am guessing was for Morning Wood. They charge $15 for the regular MBCP so it wouldn't be unfair to charge $18-20 for the Imperial version - if it were to be bottled. Then add in the BA time /cost and $25 makes sense. This type of pricing makes sense since MBCP and Last Snow are two of the best Adjunct Porters in the business. They earned the right to charge $25 per bottle for their BA counterparts.

I had 0 trouble getting my hands on BCBS at $25-27 per 4pk here in Central FL. I know over 15 people that got bottles and they never paid more than $6.50/$6.99 per bottle.

If you didn't overpay for it out of blind loyalty, you can pick it up for $24 at Total Wine.
