It's a disco INFERNO!

 

One of my top favorite gose of the year. Flavors of big tart cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice fruity/acidic tart finish with balanced cherry and fruity yeast complexity; with balanced salinity and acidity in the mouthfeel as well. Very flavorful for the ABV. I am definitely going to buy a lot more next spring when it comes back. I only have a couple bottles left.


Always fantastic! Big flavors of pumpkin, gingerbread, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, bread crust, caramel, and light-moderate herbal spice bitterness. Great spice balance/complexity with malt and pumpkin flavor; and very smooth and fairly crisp for the ABV. I keep grabbing more singles of this really often, glad it is in 12 oz now. I will make sure to stash some away as well, I like this even more with maybe 6-9 months of age.


First harvest ale of the year. Incredible as usual. Big bright hop flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/bready malt balance; and a great sticky bitter finish with slight creaminess in the mouthfeel. Probably my favorite wet hop beer of the season.


Cellar picking the random 12.12.12 I stumbled upon earlier this year. Still tastes fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, dark bread, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg, clove, orange peel, and light char; with some noticeable raisin, plum, fig dark fruit notes in the back. Nice roast bitter/spicy yeast balanced finish; with a great balance between spice, malt, and yeast complexity all around. Nice creamy mouthfeel with some light stickiness from spices as well. Very smooth sipping with a mildly warming finish for 9%. Since I have reviewed this(April 2013), it seems to have gained a bit more noticeable dark fruit complexity as the spices are dialed back and allowing them to come out; however there is still a ton of spice flavors present. Awesome!

Good Sunday morning, BA's.....and another glorious autumn day in store here....70 and sunny is the forecast - love it!

Going to go out on a long ass hike or bike ride this morning, then some sailing this afternoon.....

And perhaps - just maybe, drink a beer or 3 along the way!

Had a great canoe outing on my lake yesterday - the fall colors are just getting started - but you can see the changes from day to day at this time of year....

This beer is spectacular - from last year - only 2 left - but hope my daughter - who spent the weekend in Asheville, found some more for me, along with some Wicked Weed, etc goodies....I sure raised her right!



Highly recommend this beer - even if you are not a "pumpkin person", this stout is freakin' delicious!
