Luckily, I found a store about 30 minutes from me in RI that carries it. What a fantastic IPA.
Between this, Captain's Daughter and SoS... really haven't needed any others lately.

If you have not tried UJ, do your best to hunt it down.

It's a great beer that often gets overlooked because of the newer IPAs flooding the market. FW is very consistent with their QA -- right up there with Stone.

Never has this one, they get it in Pa I'll have to check freshness.

Agreed that Union Jack is fantastic; one of my favorite single IPA's for sure and I've probably bought more six-packs of it than any other beer.

That said, I definitely prefer Double Jack and that's often the one I end up picking up instead when I'm craving a hoppy FW beer.

I'd say that it's best to check dates if your looking to buy it in a bottle shop. On my last beer run, the bottles on the shelf were 11 months old. On tap, though, it's quite a treat.

Now that I live in San Diego it's my go to, I don't know if I like it more than Sculpin, but the price is a lot more fair. Double Jack is mana from heaven though.

Living out in Utah, I see it all over. But it's always over two months old and sold at room temp. Not sure if this is worth picking up despite the freshness factor?

Excellent ipa when fresh! I too have probably drank more of this than any other ipa out there. Cheers!

Great IPA, one of the best. Now they are bringing kegs to PA, winning!

The sixer I picked up in RI was only 4 weeks old. I thought that was decent. It tasted great.

Delicious beer! Bought some recently that was about two weeks after bottling.

Too often we get in the trap of trying new beers and then we sometimes remember the great beer we're missing, and already knew about all along. Cheers to drinking known great beers that you already love! :sunglasses:

Interesting because I had a Union Jack several years ago and didn't care much for it (was probably old). Had it recently and loved it. Not sure if it was palate change or just got an old IPA the first time.

With that said I also really love the Pale 31 from FW. However, I've tried Double Jack 2x now (once years ago and a revisit after how much I liked UJ, and still didn't care much for it even the 2nd time.

It is a great beer and should be hyped more, better than Lunch and cheaper!

Visited the brewery last year and had it on tap. Now that was fresh!. Most definitely a great beer that has stood the test of time.

I love Union Jack and Double Jack, when I see it fresh I always pick them up. I think both fresh are world class beers.

I was going to pick some up last week to try it out and went with dirt wolf cause it was fresher. the six packs of bottle and can where both about four months old. so i guess people aren't buying or the distributor isn't bring in fresh stuff.

Hard one to beat in my book. I love double Jack as well but this one outshines it IMO

I second this. Union Jack quite took me by surprise when I first had it a few months ago. It tastes like a mix of Two Hearted Ale and Sculpin. It's the got the great balance and mouthfeel of the former, with some of the tropical characteristics of the latter. It's got exactly what I look for in IPAs--juicy upfront, dry and bitter on the finish, and a thick mouthfeel. The only problem is it's nearly impossible to find less than three months old. :slight_frown:

One of my favorite IPA's. Unfortunately, I can never find a bottle/can that isn't at least 4 months old in my area.
