The Mad Elf has emerged from hiding! Our loveable little holiday scamp is now available in 12oz. bottles at the brewery and in our Tasting Room. We've also begun shipping mad Elf to all of our distribution markets. Street dates are as follows:
    10/12: PA & OH
10/19: DC, DE, MD & NJ
10/26: CT, MA, NC, NY & VA
Pick some up for the holidays before he scurries away until next season. Please note that the Mad Elf draft release begins Monday, November 16.

I know the he tends to be a polarizing fellow around here, but I love me some Elf. I usually save 12 or so to drink throughout the year, so I don't care when they release it, as long as I get some. One of the very few beers I buy in case quantity every year.

I like Mad Elf, and it's typically abundant around here. I'm in no hurry to buy any, as I know I'll be able to find it for the next several months.

I feel like I'm going to get some nasty comments drinking this in November with the "Christmas-too-soon" crowd.

Too bad, it's a great beer. Can't wait to see it on shelves.

Wow, it does seem that the seasonals are being released earlier and earlier. I like to age Mad Elf for at least 6 months or so anyway. Will buy a couple 6ers and stash away for 2016 and beyond while enjoying some of my 2014 and 2015 stash I have saved.

Been buying my Mad Elf in mid October for some years now. Doesn't seem any earlier than usual.

You can't touch Mad Elf in South Jersey until Thanksgiving.

And then it sells out in about 2 weeks...

Then I tell people to go to PA, but they don't listen.

I'm surprised it hasn't shrunk to the 4pk format!

Same. Prob 4 out of last year's 6 left, but if I recall correctly, I've enjoyed it more with some age on it. Give the 2014 another whirl.

They really should. I wouldn't necessarily say it sits on the shelf, but it's almost always available somewhere.

I love Mad Elf but isn't is supposed to be a Christmas beer? We have not seen Halloween yet. I guess Celebration will be out soon.

It's being bottled right now, and I'm completely fine with that.

Aged for about a year, it's a very different (and much more enjoyable) beer.

Fresh Mad Elf reminds me a little of Robitussin.

That's only one store IIRC. It's all over Jersey as soon as it ships, I was seeing it into December easily last year.

As it's a fresh hop IPA, I sure as hell don't mind seeing it early.

I will try it again this year. I keep thinking about how I hate it and how gross it was but then again it has been many, many years since I had it. I will revisit it this year.

Yes, this beer gets better with some age on it. I refuse to open my 2014s until after Thanksgiving. Hey, let's quit skipping holidays, mmmkay?
