Your bad (beer) habits

The worst....I gotta have a cigarette when I drink beer

 

Treadmill drinking. I'll tell myself I'm having "one with a friend" which then magically turns into 2-3-4.
+ side : no longer driving anymore after I've had more than 2.

 

Building up the stockpile is by far my biggest bad habit. Purchase rate far exceeds consumption.

 

Buying more beer and then drinking the beer.

 

I spend too much time on a website talking about beer with complete strangers.

 

Drinking while in bed. My gf usually needs to wake up earlier than I do for work, so bedtime often comes before I'm done my last beer. I'm trying to time things out so that I'm finished before we head to the bedroom, because I'm more likely to not sleep as well when I've been drinking in bed.

 

Telling myself "I'm not going to spend any money on beer this week!" every week.

 

Opening up big / rare / expensive beers at the end of the evening when I'm already drunk.

 

Planning vacations around brewery/brewpub trips is awesome! Luckily I have a wife who is on board with this idea (within reason).

 

Buy too much. I go to can releases and buy the max and end up with tons of beers that need to be fresh. Then I trade them, spend a lot of money, and end up with more beer that needs to be fresh.

 

Too many damn bottle shares. Being young and single equals a lot of free time Friday night-Sunday which ends up in one or two shares a week, which in turn leaves me quite hungover

 

Being on time.
Being right too often.
Not sleeping enough.
Eating healthier.

 

LOL. Wait 'till you get older. To put it politely, the "pneumatic" issues that arise ...or more accurately, when the pneumatics fail to rise (think about it) when imbibing too much at bedtime will cure that bad habit quite efficiently.

 

Buying too much beer. My cellar is pretty damn full and never seems to get any smaller.

Yeah, I think a lot of us are guilty of this. You buy stuff because it's exciting, and then don't drink all your beer fast enough.

GUILTY!

 

Buying more beer when I have a fridge full for beer. Going to a bottle shop and walking out empty handed bc I didn't find anything new.

 

I'm old enough to have had all of the bad habits known to human kind. The older I get, the more I enjoy them. Hesiod encourage moderation in all things. I'm best at moderation in my moderation. Drink up and enjoy.

 

Since I have about a 100 mile round trip to get good beer, I tend to stock up when I go. That means much of what I bought will age about 1 to 2 months, so freshness can become an issue with some styles.
