It's going to be hitting most places this week. Has anyone seen it yet?

This was a brewery-only release last year, right? If it is hitting distro around A2 let me know!

I couldn't go up to the release. Any chance this leaves Michigan?

None. Only a couple hundred cases will hit distro.

You are lucky you didn't come. It was a complete s**t show anyway.

A couple Hundred cases...so how hard will this be to get around southwest Michigan?

didn't know this would hit distro. I tried it at Bells fest, and it was good. Not blowing my mine, but I'd grab it if I saw some.

How much was it at the brewery for release?

Likewise - really surprised to hear a couple hundred made it to distro. Although I've heard mixed things about it, I'd certainly pick up a bottle if I spot one in A2.

Looked it up. $5 at the brewery.

I might snag 1 or 2 if i have the chance, but that is KBS level prices... I don't know if it was that good.

Drakes had it on Facebook yesterday & all of it got reserved. Mega Bev West Main has them now w/a 2 bottle limit

I had a couple bottles of this last year and found it incredibly meh. BA Neo is exhibit "A" showing how a brewery can barrel age something, limit production of it, and watch people go absolutely ape shit over it.

The reason it doesn't have a ton of barrel presence is because it would mask most of the flavors

I haven't tried BA Neo Stout, but I've been seriously underwhelmed by a lot of their other BA beers (dramanatrix, darker than your soul, not messin around). Considering my "meh" feelings for the regular Neo Stout, I'm not too bothered by missing this. Come to think of it, I'm just not that hot on them as a brewery overall.

I generally feel the same, but I really did like BA darker than your soul.

    Honestly, yeah. I mean it is only $1 a bottle, but 25% higher. A $16 4-pack vs a $20 4-pack is a big difference in my mind.

Like I said i'll get it if I can grab some, but not waiting around in the lines that they had for it. Saugatuck as a whole underwhelms me. I did the tour, tried a bunch of their beers etc, had BA Neo at bell's fest, and they really don't wow me. The pub atmosphere was good. The tour was good if it was the first brewery tour you ever went on, the other people on the tour seemed a bit clueless and just wanted to consume mass quantities of beer. They just feel like a brewery that is trying a bit too hard, still producing average offerings, but trying to rake in on the ultra premium status. And they're just not there.

I still have a bottle of Dramanatrix I got in a trade that I need to drink.

I really like the regular Neo Stout, particularly on draft, and a lot on nitro. Curious about what the barrel does to it.

As far as the rest of the Saugatuck lineup, I enjoy Starburst Wheat. I thought Mandarina was really disappointing, and am not big on Bonfire Brown. So, I guess par for the course wrt Michigan's second rate breweries.
