Has anyone tried these guys yet? I have heard this time around that they are more refined and less hot.

I sure hope so. Not sure why they'd bring them back otherwise. When I saw stores getting it back for an encore, I was pretty confused since not many people had favorable opinions about these two. Odd choice.

Unless they made a tiny amount I imagine it should be very easy to get. I've seen several local OC spots post on social media that they got it in today.

All you ever read about these beers are that they are the worst beers Stone ever made. Had a taster of Punishment and immediately tossed it. Someone bought me Crime shortly after and it's still unopened.

I had Crime the first time around and I'm willing to give it (and possibly Punishment) another shot. I've had a few pepper beers since Crime...maybe my taste for them has changed.

Should be decent to make some carne asada with.

Still among the few that think the first batch of Punishment was phenomenal. A great batch of barrel aged Double Bastard with great chili taste and enough spice to knock home the fact that it's a sipper. They've gotten spicier since, but that generally just means I drink less (and slower) instead of enjoying the beer in my glass less.

From most of these comments regarding the beers, sounds like they should change the name of Crime to "Cruel & Unusual". Then they'd have a pretty swell named series.

Haven't had these yet and didn't want to fork over $20+ in the past for a spicy beer. Do people hate these just because of the heat, or does it suck in general? If it tastes good, I'd want to try it...

You can still find the 2013 versions on the shelves along with southern charred. I'm still interested to try, it was an experience last time. I prefer peppered stouts than ipas and strong ales though.

it is virtually undrinkable. the chile heat and flavor overpowers the beer beyond belief.

i love peppers and have a very high tolerance for heat. i grow tons of pepper plants every year and make hot sauce and cook with them (including the hottest peppers known to man).* i've even (stupidly) taken people up on dares of eating extremely hot peppers for the sake of entertainment

    I like arrogant bastard

    this beer was horrid

the only way i could see it possibly being drinkable is if was aged for 5 years or more.

as much as i like peppers and i like beer, i think used in beer it needs to be sparing. Bomb! and Huna are examples of peppers being used successfully, in my opinion. Habanero sculpin is interesting, but it is a palate ender for a drinking session
