None in Connecticut yet. This may be my all time favorite beer. I can handle the extra booze.

I am sitting here staring at 6 from last year. My daughter made quite the score at a store down where she goes to school

yeah, i'm with that. currently drinking a central waters BBA scotch ale. i like CW's typical barrel character more than founders' (founders usually subtler, CW more in your face cookies and booze like goose island), but backwoods bastard is all around the better beer.

This sounds odd.. Harvest is dropping this week. We've gotton Founder's beer early before, and have been told not to sell it until a certain date.. But not this damn early. It's normally a few days before the release.

It's hit the shelves here on Long island. Had one last night and am loving this years version. Very balanced compared with last years.

Got some in Queens (NY) last weekend. Looking forward to trying this side by side with the 2 from last year I was unaware I still had in the back of my fridge.

There were a ton of Untappd check ins to Backwoods Bastard (2015) last Friday at Mike's Bar & Grill in St. Berea, OH. So either they're all right or they're all mistaken. Either way I wouldn't be surprised. Founders distro has some of the strangest timing.

I bought a case last night in Rochester ,NY at the Basin Hess ( a gas station & Craft bottle shop). My favorite obtainable beer.
Thanks to Dick, Rich and all the gang! It's a little hot at 11.6%, and I think the sweet spot for this beer is at 6 months after being cellared properly at 55F.. The bourbon comes out a bit more, heat recedes. I don't keep it longer than a year- gets thinner.

It should be in Syracuse and Utica also, as I stop at bottle shops on my way to camp in Adirondaks. There is a place where pricey, highly sought variants of Firestone, Founders and Goose Island just linger on shelves for weeks. The 12 BWB that I kept in 36F fridge at camp stayed hot and fresh for a year.

Aging this beer is a mistake. It's best fresh - 3 months old, maybe 6 months tops.

After a year becomes thin and loses the bourbon, won't make that mistake again. I had a 3 or 4 year old example at a bar and it was flat and no bourbon at all. Just age Dirty Bastard if creamy is what you're after (serious suggestion!) .

I was there. Not sure what year it was. It was paired with a flight of CBS, and Blushing Monk. Great flight..

I completely agree with you. I really prefer with 4-6 months on it. It's great fresh, but with 4-6 months it's just divine. I "cellar" in my basement at about 65 degrees. Probably would go closer to 6 months if it was cellared properly at 55.
