Very good collab. This is what a blend of an IPA and a Triple would be. Cheers!

Drinking my second 30th Anny that I bought ... going to try and keep the other one for a year or two before drinking it, but I'm not sure how that will work out -- this beer already tastes great as it is. I can't imagine it truly getting BETTER.

Thanks again to those suggesting I drink while grading papers. What brilliance!

Happy Hump Day!! And it's lunch time...

Some leftovers from Olive Garden last night with some sauteed mushrooms I added in, because...well...I freakin' love mushrooms!
Pairing it with this lovely little Pale Ale from Boulevard/CCB

Oldest son has a game tonight and not tomorrow so we will be hitting up the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT again; then on Sunday or Monday my parents come down to visit for a week...so I can't wait!

    Cheers!

Side Launch Clementine's Gone Wild, a clementine pale ale. Huge bitter citrus flavour in this one. I like it!

This will have to substitute until Backwoods works it's way here. Not too shabby! Maybe a tad sweeter? Still hitting the spot on a cool, but beautiful autumn day. My mutt took a break from hunting critters to join the photo.

Bison Organic Chocolate Stout and some 700 Club for a little spiritual balance and positivity.

Got this one at Full Throttle Bottles (thanks for the help, the two that helped me yesterday!)

Still in Seattle. Planning on doing some sightseeing and port dining today. Maybe see if we can drive by Kurt's house.

Served in a nonic pint while on vacation in beautiful Seattle, WA.

Appearance : Dark chocolate black body, 100% opaque, no light penetrating. The head is beautiful and khaki colored, standing at 3 fingers and leaving gracious lace on the sides of the glass as it recedes to a resting 1 finger.

Smell : A prune juice aroma, with soy sauce, blueberry juice, pomegranate and roasted malts. Chocolate can be nosed in a "health store organically bagged powder" kind of way. I guess you'd say it's cacao. Not a bad nose here and pretty unique.

Taste : A fair balance of coffee bean bitterness and roast malts, with a dusting of cocoa in the background. Slight almond. Some vanilla creme lingers on the tongue for the finish.

Feel : Refreshing, which is not something you'd normally associate with a stout. But it is easily drinkable, it's not thick, it's more medium bodied and flirting with the porter style but the creaminess lends it a hand in bringing it back up to a thicker stout like feel. Nice dry bite on the finish yielded from coffee/bean.

Overall : I'd say it's better than the rep it gets overall. I liked it, I thought it was decent and better than some milk stouts I've had. Remember, this is a lighter milk/sweet stout - don't judge it next to an Imperial or Russian Stout and you'll view it more positively.

One car in for routine maintenance, so I dropped my wife off for her hair appointment and went to York River Landing. I sure didn't want to sit at the hairdressers while I waited. It was a fall theme at the bar, so I started off with Southern Tier Pumpking, then had Uinta Punk'n. Spent an enjoyable time with Connall the day bartender.
