I figure we should start a thread about places in the area getting Bourbon County variants. Anyone have an idea of any places? I'd assume philly should be getting a good amount

I'm hoping that they do the events at Foodery again, but haven't heard anything yet.

Very interested in finding this out myself. I am hoping to take a trip to Philly for the Black Friday release. Where is the best place or places to go? Looking for a good quantity of the regular(case or so) and a few bottles of variants(coffee especially).

I'll be following along as I haven't had any yet and definitely want to get some.

i'd think that most places that got it last year will again this year..I'm interested to see how Rare is distributed and how much it will sell for...that being said..top hops in NYC should have everything on Black Friday..but get there early..they start selling bottles at 9am..I got there around 5am and was about 20th or so in line...if they have Rare to sell, i'd expect some folks camping out

I don't think camping out will be exclusive to NYC, I would think every place that is confirmed to have Rare will have campers.

Does anyone know if anywhere in North Jersey will have any for sale? I will be staying with family in Passaic and am debating if I need to go into the city or not.

In NJ the larger stores like Total Wine and Gary's will get it. Last time it was a lottery at Gary's but that might just be the store I frequent. At least with the lottery you didn't have to stand in line. Just came in and picked yours up if you got picked on the date.

In regards to the regular, not sure why anyone would even bother with NJ stores. You get people following trucks bringing in their grandma all for 1 bottle. I got a case from Cable last year, I think I have about 20 left. Top Hops in NYC is the way to go if you are local, drive in, or don't mind carrying beer all over the city.

When it comes to Variants I find NJ gets very little, and most of those cases don't even go for sale as managers will buy the case themselves.

As far as the coffee/barleywine/whatever else goes keep an eye on Cable's website. The past two years they have posted when they have had those variants and what the limits were (usually a bottle or 4 pack each, depending on how much, or little, they get).

I agree with you. just think it's insane to camp overnight for a 45,000 bottle release that happens to be called "rare". and especially on a night in which i'd hope people would be with family instead of sleeping outside (in the cold in most places on the east coast) with a bunch of neckbeards.

I have NEVER seen as much as a case of BCBS offered in Philly area. Anyone want to correct me on this? Could barely find a couple of bottles last year....and that was the base version.

This release will bring out the best of the beer geek community, but will also bring out and expose the worst behavior. The hype, hysteria and lengths people go to for this one could be epic.
