The Locals HINTS AND HAULS THREAD

Just had one of those a few weeks ago! Mellowed out so nicely!

 

This was a truly LOCAL night packing up 2 LIF boxes (+an RTP) and mourning the pending return of a box en route to the state running out of beer (don't worry, I'll get that beyotch turned around lickity split!)

Because it has worked beautifully, and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we are stealing the proven X days format(originated by @bevoduz, and later successfully run by our own @Dave_Treat & @LehighAce06) for the next Locals round.

This will be Round 8, for those of you counting at home.



The following instructions were lovingly stolen, and may have been slightly modified to fit your screen.



What makes this round unique is each shipper will be providing their target with 6 individually wrapped beers(bottle, can, growler)… Each of these packages will be tagged with the order and/or date on which they should be opened. Starting on Wednesday November 25th, each target will open the designated package for that day, take a photo, post some ****, and hopefully drink the beer too!



It's up to the shipper to decide which beers should be opened when, and remember this is a task that shouldn't be taken lightly. Should the target open the best first on the biggest party night of the year, or on the Thanksgiving holiday, or after shopping for BCBS on Black Friday, to celebrate the BIF, or something in between? It is all up to you.

I will accept entrants until Friday 10/23 and plan to get targets out by October 25th, with a shipping deadline of 11/21. If you're interested let me know soon.



If this is your first foray into Locals BIFs:

• Provide me via private message the following information (title the message Halloween BIF so I can easily reference it.)
  • Name, shipping address, and cellphone number
  • Any 'Do Not Ship' dates (ie you’ll be out of town)
  • Shirt size
  • Untappd username
  • Any notable breweries that are (or are not) available but not listed on seekabrew as such (as that site can be out of date)

All Participants:

• Provide me via private message a Wish List - (you can send later so you have time to think about it) this is your beer geek list to Santa, giving them a bit more to go by than just your wants. Feel free to include specific beers, styles you love, styles you don't like, breweries, etc...
• Even if you trust us all explicitly, please send at least a couple of bottles that you’d love to have. Or the style you’ve been craving!

Specifics for our Thanksgiving Santa’s:

• 6 beers! This is a hard limit. This round will not be about bombing porches. If you want to nuke your fellow Locals, do it with quality. Make sure each beer is individually wrapped in some way to ensure it's contents cannot be identified and clearly marked when it should be opened (either sequentially or the open date is fine)
• Maximum of 6 beers! This will work only if it is treated as a SMALL round. If you feel the need to impress someone, do it with quality, not quantity.
• I trust your judgement, but since the number of beers is limited, we should probably try to avoid a box of exclusively small format beers. Unless you can really bring the pain in 12 ounces.
• Utilize the Wish List, as well as your targets wants, and at least try to get them beers they can't buy locally (seekabrew.com)
• Swag is not required. But not restricted, either.
• Your package should arrive to your target no later than the week ending November 21st, in case your target is out of town or there are shipping delays (travel plans will be noted when you get your target if available)
• Open to all Locals, lurkers, and any wannabe Locals that have successfully completed BIFs in the past, or have positive trade feedback rating of 10 or higher and 100% positive. If you have never done a previous "12 Days" BIF or Locals round, PLEASE go to the threads for each and check out the hauls, this BIF is NOT for the faint of heart!
• By signing up, you are committing to participation in not only sending and receiving beer, but the daily posting of beer **** and discussion throughout the drinking period from 11/25-11/30.
