Your bad (beer) habits

I fall into the "I'm only going to have 1 beer tonight" group. After that 1, it's like crack (I assume ).

And edging that bad habit out by a little, is buying too many IPA's and feeling like I need to finish them before they are "too old". It's so hard to go into a shop and pass on fresh beer. I've been doing a lot better though.

 

I drink the same old same old most days.

 

Buying beer when I'm bored.

 

Logging a beer in Untappd prematurely....then having to add a comment to clarify something or change it.

 

Definitely drinking too fast, especially with nice sessionable beers. I've even started thinking to myself, "Ok, sip...now don't have a sip until everyone else's beer is this low." But I forget. And gulp. How does anyone make a pint of 5% beer last more than 15 minutes?

I buy all kinds of stuff to cellar and neglect to get anything to drink right away, leaving me with over 100 bottles cellared and nothing to drink tonight.

around noon I start thinking about what I am going to drink when I get home from work . I am no expert but constantly daydreaming about your next drink can't be good

 

Amen to that. I've done that a few times and regretted it the next day. And in those moments, even my wife was saying, "No, DON'T DO IT!!" Live and learn. I now listen to her whenever I get to that point!

 

Drinking imperial stouts before breakfast just to get on Page 1 of WBAYDN.

 

Not properly washing glassware. Our dishwasher hasn't worked for about a year, so we wash 'em by hand. It's a huge let down to take the first sip of a great beer in a glass that smells like onions or garlic.

 

Posting to BA expecting the mods to not delete or lock down the thread because they don't like it. But really, buying beer and trading when I can't afford it.

 

I now sniff everything that comes under my nose. Water, milk, coffee and even potato chips.

 

This. I have a pretty strong health and fitness drive so I mostly stick to only drinking on the weekends and rarely drink more than 2 or 3, but I definitely think about beer CONSTANTLY.

 

You forgot being bitter about having said threads deleted.

 

Spending money I really shouldn't is my biggest bad beer habit.

 

I always feel guilty when im buying beers at a bar or restaurant, when I have great beers at home that I should be drinking to make room.
